Arrival in Laos
Welcome to Luang Prabang, a World Heritage town since 1995! It is a combination of world-class comfort and spiritual nourishment.
Upon arrival at Luang Prabang, you will be transferred to your hotel. You can spend the day at your own leisure!
Explore Luang Prabang on your own
After a delicious breakfast, you can explore Luang Prabang on your own. Luang Prabang sits at the sacred confluence of the Mekong River and the Nam Khan (Khan River). You will enjoy the view of gilded wats (temples), saffron-clad monks, faded Indochinese villas and the taste of exquisite Gallic cuisine. You can stroll in the fabulous boutique hotels and eat at local restaurants. Don't forget to take pictures while sightseeing in this friendly village!
The journey to the caves
After breakfast, you will board a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which gives a beautiful panoramic view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. This must be quite a sight!
En route, you will stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where the local specialty of rice wine is produced. Once back in Luang Prabang city you will drive to Ban Phanom, a village well known for its hand weaving. You will also visit Ban Xangkhong and Ban Xienglek, small villages well-known for silk weavings and for Saa (jute) paper making.
Off to Siem Reap
Say farewell to Luang Prabang. You will leave for Siem Reap in the afternoon. It is home to the famous Angkor Wat, one of the greatest cultural monuments in the world.
Once you arrive in Siem Reap, you will be transferred to your hotel to relax and rest. Sleep well to prepare yourself for the activities tomorrow!
Discover the temples in Siem Reap
Today, you will start early so you can visit a lot of interesting places in Siem Reap. Enjoy an early breakfast before you start the day. You will visit the picturesque Ta Prohm that had nearly disappeared into the jungle and remains overgrown, an oddly haunting and exotic scene! Then, you will visit the intricately carved Khmer ruins at Angkor Wat - one of the world’s most impressive ruins. Afterwards, you will visit the mysterious royal city of Angkor Thom. Don't forget to take a picture of yourself in these beautiful sights!
Cruise along the Floating Village
In the morning, you will be transferred to Chong Kneas Village. Chong Kneas is a permanent floating village on the Tonle Sap Lake. You will board a local boat and cruise the waterways observing the authentic and diverse lifestyle of the local floating community. Admire the simple, yet fascinating lifestyle of the locals. The experience is wonderful as you pass by the floating village, stilt houses, flooded forest, and watch the fishermen at work. Afterwards, you will visit the Old Market before saying goodbye to Siem Reap.
You will be transferred to the airport for boarding a short flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival at Noi Bai airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. Experience the old and the new in this beautiful city!
Discover the beauty of Halong Bay
Today, you will head out on a 4-hour scenic drive to Halong Bay, a World Heritage site since 1994. Halong Bay is an outstanding beauty which consists of 1,600 islands and islets, forming a spectacular seascape of limestone pillars. You will enjoy a great seafood lunch on board as you begin your fantastic cruise on Halong Bay. The scenery is truly breathtaking and is continuously changing. You will visit Me Cung Cave, Tuan Chau Island and Dinh Huong Island, Ga Choi Island, Dog Island, Sail Island. You can join a cooking class on board and enjoy watching the sunset on Halong Bay!
Spend a relaxing day in Halong Bay
Wake up to a beautiful sunrise and feel the early morning salt water scent. Bask in the early sun rising from behind the mountains while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. This morning, you will visit Titov Island. You can swim in the emerald water or trek to the top of the island and watch the breathtaking panoramic view of the Bay. You can also kayak through the hidden beauty of the Bay. Then, you will visit the beautiful grotto and other area of Ha Long Bay. Enjoy your lunch as your boat weaves through strange-shaped limestone rock formations. This is a relaxing day indeed and an unforgettable one!
An unforgettable day in Hanoi
Today is an unforgettable day for Hanoi. You will start with a nice buffet breakfast at your hotel, where you can enjoy some Vietnamese coffee, if you are a coffee lover. Your first stop is Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, where Uncle Ho-Father of the Vietnamese, is laid out in state. You will also visit the Presidential Palace where Ho refused to live, choosing instead a small stilt house beside a lake. You can also visit the One Pillar Pagoda which is located nearby. Then, enjoy a tour around the beautiful West Lake and to the venerable Temple of Literature.
Afterward, you will be transferred to Noi Bai Airport for a short flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Hoi An hotel.
Explore Hoi An on your own
This morning, you are free to explore Hoi An on your own. Wander through the streets of this graceful and historic town of Vietnam. Hoi An boasts the grand architecture and beguiling riverside setting that befits its heritage. The face of the Old Town has preserved its incredible legacy of tottering Japanese merchant houses, Chinese temples and ancient tea warehouses. You can also explore lounge bars, boutique hotels, and tailor shops. If you're up for some cycling, boat trips, and swimming - you can travel a few kilometers to enjoy some of Vietnam's enticing scenery and beaches. Have fun on your exploration of Hoi An!
Be creative in Hoi An!
Rise and shine! Get in touch with your creative side and experience the Vietnamese culture firsthand! You will visit the Hoi An Museum, Ancient Houses, the Assembly Hall with Chinese influence, handicraft workshops and the Japanese Bridge. Afterwards, you will have a hands-on workshop to learn the traditional art of lantern making. You will create a lantern from scratch and this will be a perfect souvenir item for you to show off your craftsmanship to your friends and family!
You will be transferred to Hue, passing Lang Co Beach and Hai Van Pass along the way.
Visit the highlights of Hue
This morning, prepare yourself to explore the beautiful city of Hue. You will visit the Royal Citadel which is a famous historical site. Before leaving the site of the Imperial city, you will visit the Imperial Museum, where you can see a display of many precious objects which were salvaged from the Imperial city. Then, you will visit Khai Dinh Tomb.
Afterwards, you will say goodbye to Hue and drive to the airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel to rest.
A cruise along Mekong Delta
After breakfast, you will drive to Ben Tre. Upon arrival at Ben Tre, you will board a boat that will cruise along the Ham Luong River and stop off at various local workplaces to give you a picture of how the local economy works. You will watch how the locals make a traditional brick kiln, join a coconut processing workshop, and visit a mat-weaving house where straw mats are woven using a hand loom. Afterwards, you will visit a village to experience the life of the locals. Then you can board a “xe loi”, their version of a motorized rickshaw, or cycle around the village amongst ravishing rice fields, fruit orchards and vegetable plots. Then, you will visit a veteran family and talk about Khmer history. You will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. This day is one of the highlights of this tour where you can immerse in a true Vietnamese culture!
