Discover the Wonders of Iguazu National Park
Today you'll be exploring Iguazu National Park! When you arrive at the Visitor Center, you’ll kick off your trip around the park by driving to the main paths which stretch over 1,200 m of the park and sit above the Iguazu river.
Once you reached the paths, you’ll get a panoramic view of the Argentine side of the falls. It's the perfect spot to take some photos. Continuing along this walking route, you’ll get to see the Cañón del Río Iguazú, Salto Rivadavia, Tres Mosqueteros and many others.
Towards the end of the route, you’ll also see the lower part of the river and the impressive Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Gorge). The walkway ends beside Salto Floriano, from where you can take either a number of stairs or an elevator straight down to the car park or up to shops and restaurants.
Admire the Iguazu Falls
In this subtropical forest area you’ll see an incredible variety of ferns, orchids, begonias, birds and butterflies, as well as the diverse native species of flora and fauna.
After entering the park, you'll head on to the main station (‘Estación Central’) where you’ll be able to hop on a train to either the falls station (‘Estación Cataratas’) or the Devil’s Gorge station (‘Estación Garganta del Diablo‘).
Another way to reach the falls circuits (Upper and Lower) is via the 600m forest walkway (‘Sendero Verde’), which begins at the Visitor Center and takes you all the way to the falls station. Take in the magnificent view!
Explore the Magnificent Ruins of San Ignacio
Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Puerto Iguazu and driven towards San Ignacio, some 230 km away. Amongst the thick jungle, the ruins of San Ignacio stand ready for you to discover. Make sure you check out the facade of the temple. It was made entirely with pink sandstone in 1610 and its American Baroque design was rebuilt by a group of scientists in the last century.
Then, after discovering the culture and heritage of the ruins, you will head to the Wanda Mines, founded by Polish settlers in 1936. Its open air nature is particularly striking and you can walk round and look at the caves.
