Enjoy San Jose del Cabo And Go Snorkeling In Cabo Pulmo
Enjoy a day of leisure in San José del Cabo.
Spend time on its beaches and soak in its relaxed rhythm of life.
We suggest a snorkeling day trip to Cabo Pulmo along the Sea of Cortes. There you can enjoy a safe swim (the currents are not as strong as on the Pacific coast). The nature reserve is home to the only coral reef on Mexico’s West Coast.
Discover Magical Todos Santos
Depart for the enchanting town of Todos Santos in the morning, one of Mexico's 'pueblos mágicos'.
Founded in 1723 and practically wiped off the map in 1734 during the Pericu revolt, the Mission Santa Rosa de Todos Santos survived until its complete abandonment in 1840. Then, over the centuries, the trapiches (sugar mills) contributed to the enrichment of this little town.
You can also visit the Hotel California, made famous by the legendary band Eagles.

Drive To Cosmopolitan La Paz
Today, travel north towards La Paz, the capital of Baja California Sur.
Laid-back, old-world beauty can be found on a stroll along the waterfront or in the older architecture around the Plaza Constitución; chic restaurants, cafes and bars cunningly hide in between the cracks. It’s a surprisingly international town – you’re as likely to hear French, Portuguese or Italian here as English or Spanish, and yet paradoxically it’s the most ‘Mexican’ city in all of Baja.
Visit A Damiana Liqueur Factory
If there is one drink that characterizes Baja California Sur, it is Damiana liqueur, with its origins dating back to the time of the Guaycura indigenous tribes who inhabited the region.
This afternoon, take the opportunity to visit an artisan Damiana factory outside the city. Visit a ranch, observe the plantations and taste the flavours of this aromatic shrub.
Afterwards, visit the distillery in La Paz, where you will see how the drink is traditionally made and learn about the indigenous traditions that made this liqueur the trademark drink of the region.
Take A Tour To Espiritu Santo Island
Depart in shared transportation for the marina in the morning, where you will board a speedboat and head to the island of Espiritu Santo.
The island is surrounded by clear and turquoise waters and was declared a nature reserve along with all of the other islands of the Gulf of California. It is also a sanctuary for many birds who find shelter there during the winter months. A colony of about 300 sea lions live on small islands located north of Espriritu Santo Island. It is possible to swim with them, and the activity is perfectly safe given that the sea lions love to play! Snorkeling equipment and wetsuit are included.
Stop in a cove protected from the wind where a picnic will be served on the beach. Take some time to swim in the transparent waters or walk around the creek.
Head back to La Paz in the afternoon.
Meet The Grey Whales At Puerto Lopez Mateos
Today, travel to Magdalena Bay an enchanting stretch of coastline on the west of Baja California Sur. Spend the afternoon at Puerto Lopez Mateos where you can take a tour to see the whales. Here it's possible to be close to the whales little more than 10 mintues after setting off from the shore. Seeing the grey whales is a once in a lifetime experience and you will not forget it any time soon!
Afterwards, continue for the Misión San Javier, "the jewel of the Baja California mission churches". The road meanders between arid and mountainous lands to reach San Javier, settled in the heart of an oasis. There, the Jesuits built the first mission in 1699. Walk in the gardens located behind the mission where oranges, lemons and mangos grow.
Spend the evening in the magic town of Loreto, considered to be the first human settlement of Baja California Sur.
Tour Isla Coronados
This morning, board a “lancha” for a day trip to ”Isla Coronados” (not included).
This island is located in the Sea of Cortés, which was called “the world's aquarium” by Jacques Cousteau.
This volcanic area is home to an incredibly rich and varied marine wildlife. The island is also a bird sanctuary for many species that live there during the winter months. Spend the morning looking for dolphins and even blue whales. For the most courageous, swimming with sea lions is a one in a lifetime experience. Give it a try, this activity is perfectly safe!
Visit a little beach and swim in its transparent waters. It is an ideal place to go snorkeling. Afterwards, reward yourself with a picnic break on the beach.
Head back to Loreto in the early afternoon!
Visit Authentic Mulege And Santa Rosalia
Today, head to Mulege, a beautiful oasis town situated on the tranquil shores of the Sea of Cortes. If you're looking for the 'Real Baja' then this is where you'll find it. Enjoy the sincere hospitality of the locals and spend a little time watching the fishermen heading out to work.
Spend the evening in Santa Rosalia, a unique 'Baja' town with a personality completely different from your average seaside town.
Once dependent on a large copper mine, this town is always bustling and it's well worth an evening spent chatting to locals who have seen it develop.
Head To San Ignacio, Gateway To The Great Sierra
Depart for San Ignacio, the gateway to the great Sierra.
This town is a true oasis, covered with date palms in the midst of the surrounding desert.
Visit the Jesuit mission built in 1728 by father Juan Bautista Luyando, which is undoubtedly the most beautiful religious art jewel in all Baja California.
Watch Grey Whales In The Vizcaino Biosphere Reserve
Today you will get an incredible chance to visit the San Ignacio Lagoon and observe the beautiful dance of the grey whales and their newborn. This is a truly unforgettable experience!
In the afternoon, paddle through the mangrove to discover the rich and diverse flora, as well as the bird diversity. Or simply wander about around the salterns of the Vizcaino Biosphere Reserve.
Towards the end of the day, the local guides will enlighten you about your day of observation.
Drive Back Towards Loreto
Rise and shine! Today, you will drive back towards Loreto.
Along the way, you can stop in the town of Santa Rosalia and enjoy more of it. You simply can't resist admiring the astonishing architecture of the city, influenced by the French.
Further on, there is the possibility to stop in Mulege, the beautiful oasis town.
Arrive in Loreto in the late afternoon.
Even the most exciting trips have to come to an end!
Transfer to the airport in time for your departure flight.Return your car to the Hertz desk and head to the terminal for check-in.
Safe travels and don't forget that Baja California is always ready to welcome you back!
