Enjoy One of the World's Best-Preserved Roman Towns
Your self-driving adventure through Jordan begins today.
After breakfast, head to the ancient colonnaded city of Jerash. Known as the city of one thousand pillars, Jerash was formerly called Gerasa and is renowned as one of the best preserved Roman towns in the world.
Buried beneath the earth for centuries, Jerash was restored over the last 70 years and is home to a magnificent amphitheater, Roman forum, churches and temples.
After immersing yourself in the historical atmosphere of Jerash, continue to the soothing, mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea. The lowest point on Earth, this enriching oasis offers indulgent relaxation within its extra-salty buoyant waters.
End your day with dinner at the hotel.
Explore Biblical Destinations
Today's journey brings you to biblical destinations like Madaba, an ancient city mentioned in the Old Testament. Here, you can see a map of the Holy Land in the 6th century St. George's Church. Later, visit the Sanctuary at Mount Nebo, the memorial burial place of Moses.
Continue to the ancient town of Karak along the storied route known as the King's Highway. This is the route Moses is said to have taken as he led the Exodus through southern Jordan.
The fortified town of Karak sits nearly 3,000 feet above sea level. Here, you can explore the hidden halls and passageways that lie beneath the old walled city.
Continue on to Petra and enjoy dinner before settling in for the night at your hotel.
Marvel at Magnificent Petra
Today, set out on a full-day tour with a local guide to one of the most remarkable destinations on earth.
Built by the Arab Nabateans, the "Rose-Red" city of Petra is an architecturally stunning city carved into the desert rock. You will be astonished by monumental tombs, palaces, and temples as you stroll through these atmospheric streets.
The tour begins with a ride on horseback through the desert as you approach Petra's monumental entrance.
Soak up the ancient, rose-hued sites before ending the day with a relaxing dinner at your hotel.
Delve into an Extraordinary Desert
Today after breakfast, take a drive north to another beautiful sandstone-carved city known as "Little Petra," a smaller version of its famous big brother.
The nearby Neolithic archeological site of Beidha offers a fascinating look at how societies began to form thousands of years ago.
After strolling through these truly awe-inspiring sights, continue to Wadi Rum, a gorgeous desert landscape with sandstone mountains and natural arches. Here, you can embark on a two-hour 4x4 SUV tour through the magnificent terrain before settling in for the night with dinner and overnight accommodations in an authentic Bedouin tent.
Discover a Coral Reef Oasis
Situated directly on the Red Sea, within close proximity to the Yamanieh coral reef in the Aqaba Marine Park, Aqaba City offers many exciting opportunities for marine-life enthusiasts. From scuba diving and snorkeling, to sailing and cruising in a glass-bottomed boat, a range of family-friendly activities await.
Once you've enjoyed some fun and sun on the sea, you may want to explore some of the region's other enriching sights, such as Aqaba Fortress, a castle built by crusaders in the 12th century.
Tonight you can enjoy a leisurely dinner at your hotel or in town.
The Rejuvenating Waters of the Red Sea
Spend the morning at your leisure, continuing to enjoy the enriching atmosphere of this seaside resort city.
