Welcome To Galapagos Islands!
As your flight begins its descent into San Cristobal, look out the window and gaze at the exquisite coastline that comes into view.
Over the next week you will embark on a scuba diving exploration of those pristine waters.
Meet your driver at the departures hall, who will take you to your hotel in the nearby village. Situated on the southwest tip of San Cristobal Island, your accommodations are just steps away from the soft sands of Playa Mann, a local beach where sea lions come to nap in the sun.
After taking in the atmosphere of this island paradise you will prepare for tomorrow's dive at the dive school.
Dive The Incredible Kicker Rock
Put on your swimsuit and get ready for your first dive in Galapagos.
After an exciting 45-minute boat ride you will reach Kicker Rock.
As you approach this geological wonder, look for frigate birds and blue-footed boobies.
After checking your equipment with a short dive off the boat, you will partake in two 50-minute immersions in the utterly biodiverse waters of this region.
Swim through a channel between the two massive boulders of Kicker Rock and see hammerhead sharks, manta rays, and sea lions.
After exploring this underwater world, enjoy lunch on board followed by a visit to a nearby beach.
Visit Playa Loberia And Playa Chino
Today you will transfer to the island of Santa Cruz.
But first, enjoy some time exploring the sights on San Cristobal.
Consider taking a morning walk to Playa Loberia where you might see baby sea lions playing.
Go for a swim in the crystal clear waters and keep an eye out for green sea turtles.
Alternatively, venture to Playa Chino on the island's south shore.
This afternoon you will transfer to Santa Cruz Island.
Upon arrival, check into your hotel, get your diving gear, and head to one of the local seafood restaurants in this quaint village.
Explore An Unparalleled Underwater World
Over the next three days, you will visit some of the most extraordinary diving sites in the world.
Depending on which day of the week it is, your dive guide will take you to one of Santa Cruz Island's myriad of dive spots.
Reach places like Floreana and Santa Fe off Santa Cruz's southern coast, or spectacular North Coast dive spots like Beagle and Daphne Islet.
Encounter A Dazzling Array Of Marine Life
Every morning after breakfast, you will venture to a new Galapagos Islands diving destination. This area is renowned for its biodiversity and you will be astonished by the range of marine life you will encounter.
Located on Santa Cruz Island's east coast, Gordon Rocks is known for being one of the best places for diving in this region.
Here, advanced and intermediate divers will discover a range of different types of sharks, including hammerhead Sharks, black-tip sharks and white-tip reef sharks, as well as barracudas, green sea turtles, spotted eagle Rays, and a dazzling array of fish.
After Diving, Learn About Darwin
After arriving at the designated dive site each day, you will always take part in a check dive to make sure your equipment is functioning properly, followed by two immersions of approximately 50 minutes each.
Diving depths often reach up to 30 meters and are usually suitable for all levels, though sometimes only intermediate and advanced divers should participate because of strong currents. All divers will need a PADI certification.
After a sensational day of diving you will return to the village in the late afternoon, giving you time to visit some of the island's fascinating sites.
At the Charles Darwin Research Station visitors can learn about how scientists are working to conserve the biodiversity on these famous islands.
¡Hasta La Vista, Islas Galapagos!
This morning is your final day in the Galapagos.
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and breathe in the clean, fresh ocean air before heading back to the San Cristobal Airport for your flight back home.
Plan to leave the village of Puerto Ayora at least three and a half hours before your flight departure, as you will travel by car, boat, and finally by bus to reach the airport.
We hope you had an unforgettable diving adventure in this extraordinary part of the world and wish you safe travels home.
