On your first full day in Egypt you will visit some of the country's most famous sights.
The day begins with a journey to the ancient capital of Old Egypt, Memphis, which is now an open-air museum.
Before your lunch break you will see the Step Pyramid at Sakkara, designed for King Zoser by the architect Imhotep.
The famous pyramids at Giza - Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus are next on the itinerary. Gaze up at these iconic structures and marvel at their extraordinary design.
Nearby, the Great Sphinx awaits. Dating back to the time of Chephren, this magnificent structure featuring the head of a pharaoh and the body of a lion is humbling to behold.
Before returning to the hotel, you will see the Valley Temple. Once buried beneath the desert sands, this structure is part of the Pyramids of Chephren Complex.
See Artifacts From King Tutankhamun's Tomb
After breakfast this morning your guide will accompany you on a tour of the Egyptian Museum. Among the magnificent artifacts on view here is the Tutankhamun Collection.
Today's itinerary continues with stops at Salah El Din Citadel, a 12th-century fortress constructed by Salah El Din, as well as the Alabaster Mosque, which is dedicated to Mohamed Ali, who ruled Egypt from 1805-1849.
After lunch at a local restaurant, the drive continues to various parts of Cairo which showcase the city's religious diversity.
In Islamic Cairo you will encounter Cairo's oldest bazaar, Khan El Khalili.

Journey To The Banks Of The Nile River
This morning you will fly south to Aswan, a city on the Nile River.
Join your guide for a day tour that begins with a visit to the Temple of Kalabsha. Originally constructed by Toutmosis II and Amenophis II, 40 miles south of Aswan, at Kalabsha, the temple was rebuilt by the Romans on a hill near the High-Dam on the western bank of the Nile.
Later, you will view an exquisite collection of antiquities at the Nubian Museum. Established in 1997, this distinctive museum was named after the ancient Egyptian word for gold Nbu, which references the gold mines found in this region.
Next, board a motor boat for a ride on the Nile River to a Nubian Village. Here, you will meet a local Nubian family, who will share stories with you about their simple lifestyle, culture and traditions.
See The Temples Of King Ramesses II
After breakfast today you will take a short flight to Abu Simbel, home to the spectacular Abu Simbel Temples. One of the most beloved of Egypt's sights, these 3,000-year-old monuments were constructed during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II. Carved out of the mountainside as a monument to himself and his queen Nefertari, the entrance to these ancient temples is flanked by immense statues. Detailed hieroglyphics adorn the sandstone walls.
Later, you will fly back to Aswan, where you can spend the evening at your leisure.

After breakfast at your hotel your tour manager will accompany you to the cruise boat. Get settled on board, enjoy lunch on deck, and then set off on a guided visit to the Aswan High Dam, a stunning engineering marvel that spans the mighty Nile.
The day continues with a tour of Philae Temple, a majestic structure dedicated to the two goddesses Isis and Hathor, followed by an excursion to the Unfinished Obelisk. Enjoy a journey up the Nile River this morning as your cruise boat makes its way to Kom Ombo. Here you will discover the twin temples of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus.
Board your boat for lunch on deck as the cruise continues to Edfu. A stop at the Temple of Edfu reveals an exquisitely preserved structure dedicated to Horus, the falcon god.
After your visit, enjoy afternoon tea onboard your boat and embark on a peaceful journey to Esna, where you will dine and spend the night on board.
See The Magnificent Sights Of Ancient Luxor
The final leg of your luxury cruise brings you to the magnificent city of Luxor. Formerly known as Thebes, this city was the capital of Ancient Egypt at the height of the pharaoh's power.
A tour of the West Bank sights includes visits to the Royal Cemetery for 62 Pharaohs, the Valley of the Kings and the mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which was built by the architects of the New Kingdom in the 15th century BC.

After breakfast today, set out on a tour of the Karnak Temple Complex. One hundred thirty seven massive sandstone columns form an awe-inspiring sight at this extraordinary open-air museum.
Continue your excursion to the Temple of Luxor. which was once linked to the Karnak Temple by an "Avenue of Sphinxes" that stretched for one-and-a-half miles. In the 14th century BC, King Amenhotep III began the construction of the Luxor Temple, which was taken over by King Tutankhamun before finally being completed by King Horemheb, the last pharaoh of Egypt's 18th Dynasty.

Pay Your Respects To Osiris, God Of The Underworld
Abydos was an extremely important religious site for the ancient Egyptians. One of the oldest cities in the world ever to be discovered, and one of the most important archeological sites in existence, the site is home to the well-preserved Temple of Seti I.
During your visit, you will have the chance to see an ancient slab of stone inscribed with the names of each of Egypt's pharaohs. Built by King Seti I and later King Ramesses II, the temple is said to be the burial place of Osiris, god of the underworld.
Continue on to Dendera, where you will find one of Egypt's best preserved temples, the Temple of Hathor, goddess of love and joy.

Today begins with a 40-minute drive to Ramesseum.
Built by Pharaoh Ramesses II as part of his memorial complex, the extensively restored temple features a series of halls and sanctuaries that contain intricately carved reliefs depicting battle scenes and celebrations.
Next up is a tour of the extraordinary Temple of Medinet Habu. Also part of Ramesses II's memorial temple complex, this sprawling sight includes remnants of the pharaoh's royal palace, as well as exquisite depictions of Ramesses' war victories.
