Angkor Wat, the Heart and Soul of Cambodia
The traveller's first glimpse of Angkor Wat, the ultimate expression of Khmer genius, is matched by only a few select spots on earth. Built by Suryavarman II (r 1112–52) and surrounded by a vast moat, Angkor Wat is one of the most inspired monuments ever conceived by the human mind.
Simply unique, it is a stunning blend of spirituality and symmetry, an enduring example of humanity’s devotion to its gods.
In the afternoon, you will leave for Banteay Srei where a most impressive jewel of Khmer art exists, this small pink sandstone temple is known as the Citadel of Women.
On the way back, you'll also visit the ancient Ta Prohm Monastery where immense branches have taken root in the stones – hence the nickname of the 'Jungle Temple'.
Explore The Angkor Temple Complex
The morning begins with a visit to Preah Khan Temple. Did you also know this monument was both a city and a place for Buddhism studies?
It is hard to imagine any building bigger or more beautiful than Angkor Wat, but in Angkor Thom ('Great City') the sum of the parts add up to a greater whole. Set over 10 sq km, the aptly named last great capital of the Khmer empire took monumental to a whole new level. This is going to be our afternoon program, including additional monuments and temples that cannot be missed.
Take it easy once back in the hotel as there are myriads of impressions to take with you.
Kompong Kleang Floating Village
In the morning, you will leave for Kompong Khleang, where all the houses are on stilts offering an exceptional natural environment with breathtaking views of flood plains, rice fields, and water views. You'll walk through this 'floating village', meeting the locals and their lovely children.
Afterward, you'll travel by boat over the canals to a large lake where Vietnamese people live when they are displaced from their homes because of the harsh seasons.
After return to Siem Reap you will catch your plane to Vietnam!
Atmospheric and Graceful Hoi An
The day starts with a boat tour to the mouth of Thu Bon river to see some authentic fishermen life.
Once in the forest forest, trek to a local house where you will enjoy a delicious BBQ seafood lunch. Enjoy lunch and some rest as you will visit the town of Hoi An right after.
Graceful, historic Hoi An is Vietnam’s most atmospheric and delightful town. Once a major port, it boasts the grand architecture and beguiling riverside setting and is recognized by UNESCO as a World heritage site. The face of the Old Town has preserved its incredible legacy of tottering Japanese merchant houses, Chinese temples and ancient tea warehouses. You will see unusually well-preserved ancient streets, homes and sites.
A Day At Historic My Son
You will take your own vehicle to todays fantastic destination. My Son, known as the most important archaeological site in the center of Vietnam.
My Son enjoys an enchanting setting in a lush jungle valley, overlooked by Cat’s Tooth Mountain (Hon Quap).
It was once the most important intellectual and religious centre of the kingdom of Champa and may also have served as a burial place for Cham monarchs. It was rediscovered in the late 19th century by the French, who restored parts of the complex, but American bombing later devastated the temples. Today it is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Welcome to busling Hanoi
Today you will say farewell to the ancient city of Hoi An, and take a flight to the next destination of the tour - Hanoi.
Upon arrival, after a day of travel you'll check into your hotel, relax, enjoy some delicious local dishes and prepare for another day of adventure to come!
Hanoi, the Hustling Capital of Vietnam
This day will bring together the best cultural sights and monuments as well as finally insight into the rich food culture of Vietnam.
Vietnam's capital races to make up for time lost to the ravages of war and a government that as recently as the 1990s kept the outside world at bay.
Your food journey in Hanoi will start through the maze of the Old Quarter, full of dozens of vendors who sell varieties of snacks, from exotic fruits, deep fried cake to barbecued seafood.
Take some rest, enjoy some people watching and listen to the dozens of interesting stories by your guide while enjoying some Vietnamese Coffee.
Halong Bay is floating past a thousand islands
3,000 towering limestone pillars and tiny islets topped by forest rise from the emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. Designated a World Heritage site in 1994, Halong Bay's spectacular scatter of islands, dotted with wind- and wave-eroded grottoes, is a vision of ethereal beauty.
You will board a beautiful boat to enjoy a very special and athmospherical overnight cruise. The evening lights are breathtaking, so is the delicious menu of fresh seafood that you will be served on board. Another highlight of your trip.
Travel To Luang Prabang
Early risers are the lucky ones!
If you want to see the aquamarine water of the bay at its best, make it happen after sunrise. The reflections in the water offer fantastic opportunities for pictures.
Enjoy a rich brunch on the boat as you will continue our excursion through the impressive limestones surrounding the bay.
The remaining day will be spend with traveling to your final destination Luang Prabang. Laos, the third country of your trip.
Enjoy an easy evening and your well-deserved rest once you arrive in your hotel.
Laos, another Gem on your Odyssey
Luang Prabang is considered a famous tourist attraction because of its tranquility and spectacular beauty. This place slows your pulse and awakens your imagination with its combination of world-class comfort and spiritual nourishment. Sitting at the sacred confluence of the Mekong River and the Nam Khan, Luang Prabang will take your breath.
Your tour will consist of many beautiful sacred temples and cultural sites, all that makes this UNESCO world heritage so famous.
In the afternoon you will experience a different form of authentic lifestyle while being on a long-tailed boat for an upstream cruise. During the cruise, you may catch in the distance limestone cliffs where the hidden Pak Ou Caves, home to thousands of Buddha statues and numerous hidden images.
En-route you will learn about the making process of the traditional Lao rice whiskey. How to end a day like this better?
Close to local lifestyle in Khmu Village
After crossing the Mekong River by ferry you arrive in Khmu Village. Enjoy authentic lifestyle and culture at its finest!
If you're interested, you can participate to cook authentic Lao food or the guide will introduce you to some traditions of Khmu people.
In the afternoon you will visit Wat Long Khun, used to serve as a royal retreat center for spiritual revitalization.
This great day continues at Wat Tham Xieng Maen, a 100m-deep limestone cave called 'Tham Sakkarin Savannakuha'.
Take a myriad of impressions with you that you could gather on this day full of diverse activities in beautiful Laos.
Elephants, the wise grey giants
A special day where you will get close to these beautiful creatures which express serenity and wisdom. You will visit an Elephant Camp, where you'll not only learn interesting facts about the animals, but you'll have the chance to feed, ride and even take 'selfies' with them!
Don't forget to bring your camera, since later you will continue to the beautiful Kuang Sii Waterfall, where you can splash around in the pools or walk along the forest paths.
