Bangkok's breathtaking sights
Some of the major attractions of Bangkok are situated in the historic center of Rattanakosin. You will explore this area today starting with the colorful local flower market. Here, you will learn about the importance of the lotus in Buddhism and have a lesson on its use in worship. Continue on to one of Bangkok’s most popular sites – the Grand Palace, a complex of royal buildings with traditional Thai architecture. It is also home to the Emerald Buddha in the Wat Phra Kaew temple.
After lunch at a riverside restaurant with views of the Wat Arun, stop by the splendid Wat Pho that houses the impressive reclining Buddha. Afterwards, visit the Baan Bat community. They make handcrafted alms bowls and you can see for yourself the process of making one. End your sightseeing for the day with a well-deserved treat – a foot massage in a traditional Thai house!
Visit the Death Railway at Kanchanaburi
Have you ever seen a floating market? On an early morning drive to Ratchaburi, you will see the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Step aboard a long-tail boat and venture down colorful canals where locals sell produce and wares from their boats.
Afterwards, drive onwards to Kanchanaburi to see the Bridge over the River Kwai. It was built as part of the railway between Thailand and Burma during World War II.
