Your African safari adventure begins today with an awe-inspiring drive across Tanzania's Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival at Lake Manyara National Park, you will set off for a game drive. This small, but spectacular park is characterized by splendid forests where acacia, mahogany trees, and giant fig trees grow.
As you venture through the verdant setting, you'll look out for baboons and blue monkeys, as well as giraffes, elephants, impalas, hippos, and buffaloes. You also may have the chance to spot somee tree climbing lions, and perhaps even a Ground Hornbill and Crested Eagle. One thing is for sure, the flock of pink flamingoes gathered around the lake will be a breathtaking sight to behold.
After a full day in the park, you will make your way to your safari camp for dinner.
Encounter the Wildlife of Ngorongoro Crater
One of the great wonders of the natural world awaits you this morning -- Ngorongoro Crater. Here, a vast array of indigenous African wildlife live among each other in a paradise setting where serene open plains stretch toward vibrant forests.
As the sun rises over this extraordinary expanse of land, you will watch and see how a morning begins in the wild. Keep an eye out for the myriad wildlife that make their home here, including the rare black rhino and some of the world's largest elephants.
You will enjoy a picnic lunch near the lake, where you can witness a stunning array of birdlife before continuing the game drive or heading back to the lodge.
Journey to the Serengeti
Today you will venture to the Serengeti, the most famous national park, where millions of wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and a dazzling array of antelopes migrate to every year. The Great Migration is a breathtaking sight to behold. To arrive at this legendary destination, you will take a long drive across the crater highlands, taking in the spectacular views on the way.
Upon arrival, you will set out for an afternoon game drive, keeping your eyes and ears open for all the magnificent wildlife that make their home here.
Transfer to your safari lodge at day's end.
Continue Your Exploration of the "Endless Plains"
A full day in Serengeti National Park is on the agenda for today. Though you may customize this day in any way you please. If a morning safari, followed by an afternoon relaxing at the lodge is your wish, we can make that happen. Or if a leisurely morning at the lodge followed by a game drive later in the day is more your style, that is of course an option as well. But whichever plan you choose, one thing is for certain, you will encounter nature's most magnificent creatures today. Climb into the safari jeep and get to see lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and more of the magnificent creatures of Africa. Bird lovers will delight in the hundreds of species of birds found here.
Set off in Pursuit of the Great Migration
Witnessing the Great Migration is the goal for today as you venture through the Serengeti in pursuit of the magnificent wildebeests, zebras, and antelope that traverse these wild lands in massive herds each year.
The time of year in which you visit determines which regions of the park you will explore. You might venture up to the northern areas of the Serengeti, near the border of Kenya, the southern areas, known as Ndutu, or travel west.
Flights are available, if you prefer to travel by air across this immense landscape.
Follow the Herds Across the Serengeti
Your second day in pursuit of the Great Migration will once again bring you into the heart of Serengeti National Park as you follow the herds across this impressive terrain.
An unforgettable sight transpires before you as massive herds of wildebeest rampage across the plains and through the rivers of the national park.
Enjoy another full day observing the marvels of nature in this wildlife paradise.
Enjoy One Final Day on Safari
This is your final day of the tour and you have two options. If you wish to have one more extraordinary experience with Africa's magnificent wildlife, wake up early and venture into the park at sunrise. This will be a trully unforgettable morning as the sky turns pink and orange over the Serengeti. This is also the time when the animals are most active.
Alternatively, you can spend your last day enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of your safari lodge. We will have brunch at the lodge, followed by a transfer to the airstrip to catch your onward flight. We hope you have had an unforgettable experience in Tanzania, and wish you pleasant travels.
