Welcome to Tanzania!
Your Tanzania tour begins with your arrival at the airport located not too far from Arusha. From here, you will be transferred to your wonderful lodge on the outskirts of Arusha town. Get acquainted with the sights and sounds of the country and gear up to begin your wildlife discovery.
Discover the Wildlife in Tarangire
Rise and shine! In the morning, meet your personal guide and drive to the Tarangire National Park going across gently rolling Masai plains dotted with acacia trees. Along the way, we will pass many Masai in their colourful dresses walking on the roadside, riding bicycles, herding cattle, and driving donkey carts.
After you arrive at the park, you will explore the fabulous landscape encompassing savanna, swamps, and the Tarangire River on an extensive game drive. Sit inside your pop-up-roof safari jeep and keep your eyes wide open to look at the many creatures that inhabit the park. You may spot large elephant herds, zebras, wildebeest, cape buffalos, giraffes, other animals, and birds. Look out for predator and prey in action or a leopard lounging in the branches of a tree. At the end of your safari, you will journey to your lodge in Karatu for an overnight stay.
Drive to Serengeti National Park
Are you all set to travel to one of the most well-known national parks in Tanzania? Get ready for a drive to Serengeti National Park – famous for its phenomenal Great Migration of wildebeest, antelope, and zebras. You will pass along the Ngorongoro Conservation Area on the way. Both Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater are also popular due to the presence of the Big 5 - elephant, black rhino, lion, leopard, and cape buffalo.
Go on your first game drive in the Serengeti to catch your initial views of the animals and the landscape. Spend the night in your luxurious tented camp. Over the next two days, you will explore much more of this fascinating area.
See Wildlife on a Game Drive at Serengeti
After an early breakfast, you will discover the beauty of the Serengeti on another game drive. Witness the diversity and abundance of wildlife including elephants, zebras, cheetahs, lions, leopards, and wildebeest.
You will then drive towards another spectacular wildlife destination – the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This is a very unique place where you can see wildlife roaming freely within an extensive crater. At the edge of the crater, enjoy a superb viewing experience of the scenic area with glistening streams and open grassland that is home to a myriad number of animals. Later, return to your Serengeti tented camp for dinner, sleep and wonderful dreams of the African wild.
Enjoy Safaris and Optional Activities
There’s so much to see and experience in the Serengeti! You can go on another safari to spot some of the animals you may have missed on your previous game drives or to see them again. You can also choose to go on an optional hot air balloon ride over the plains. This experience offers mind-blowing views of the riveting landscape from above and a chance to see the wildlife from a different perspective. If your timing is right, you can also see the incredible sight of the Great Migration involving millions of wildebeest, antelope and zebras in the Serengeti. Another optional activity is to go on a visit to Olduvai Gorge.
Overnight at your Serengeti camp lodge.
Spot the Big 5 at Ngorongoro Crater
Can you hear the call of the wild? Today, you will head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to get a look at wildlife within the stunning Ngorongoro crater. Set out to explore its magnificent landscape and amazing variety of wildlife. You might spot the Big 5 including the endangered black rhino. See predator and prey, various mammals and bird species at close quarters during your game drive. Enjoy the feeling of being inside one of the largest inactive volcanic craters in the world that is home to mesmerizing wildlife.
Spend the night at your inn in Karatu.
Explore Lake Manyara National Park
Complete your Tanzania safari by traveling to the final destination on this tour - Lake Manyara National Park. Observe an interesting landscape, which consists of the soda lake Manyara covering 70 per cent of the park area during the wet season. It’s a paradise for bird lovers with hundreds of bird species including flamingo. The lake looks like a pink wonderland during flamingo season when the birds arrive in hordes at the lake.
As you journey across the terrain consisting of grassy plains, woodlands, and cliffs on your game drive, you can also see various animals. Spot monkeys, giraffes, zebras, buffalos, elephants, and with some luck, the occasional lion relaxing on a tree. Return to Arusha in the late afternoon. Farewell Tanzania!
