Group Tours Tanzania

My 17 year old niece and I had an unforgettable African experience and adventure of a lifetime this summer! One that words truly cannot describe. Jonas of Tansafari Tours was so friendly, personable, informative, helpful and patient guiding us through the process of planning a trip that included everything my niece and I wanted to experience. Whenever I contacted him via e-mails or phone calls, he always responded in a timely manner. He was very flexible in making any changes, and he truly shared in our excitement and enthusiasm when planning our itinerary. I could tell that Jonas is passionate about his country and sharing that with others. I have and will continue to highly recommend Jonas and his travel agency to family and friends!

Our trip included two weeks of travel in Tanzania and Zanzibar. We wanted some beach time in Zanzibar after ALL our adventures in Tanzania. It was a perfect way to end a perfect trip!

In Tanzania we traveled with our guide, Bariki, and had so many laughs and so much fun! He was so passionate, knowledgeable, personable, and fun! We were fortunate to experience the beauty of Africa while traveling throughout Tanzania and while on safari in Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti. The beauty is breathtaking and the close-up encounters with all the amazing animals in their natural habitat is indescribable! In addition to our safari, we were able to interact and engage with the warm and generous people of Africa. We visited the Tengeru Cultural Project where my neice, Bariki, myself and the locals spent time sharing stories, hiking to a coffee farm, and engaging in the grinding and roasting of coffee beans, weaving handmade furniture and canoeing. We visited an orphanage, a Maasai Village, a Maasai childrens' clay hut classroom, the Hadazbe tribe, and Datoga tribe. Withe these tribes we had hands-on experiences in starting fire, using a bow and arrow, playing hand-made instruments, grinding corn with a large stone, and trying to to keep up with their dancing! It was exciting to go off the beaten path and experience and learn more about the culture of these incredible people. We are so grateful for their generosity in allowing us to spend time with them and get a personal glimpse of their lives.

After an unforgettable time in Tanzania, my niece and I flew to Zanzibar. We stayed in Nungwi in a beachfront hotel. Once again, the people were so warm and welcoming. We totally enjoyed some relaxation spending time on the beach and in the ocean. Zanzibar is known as the Spice Island, so we made sure to do a tour of a spice plantation. We also toured the historical town of Stone Town. I recommend doing both. The last night in Zanzibar, we did a sunset boat ride which as amazing. There were only 8 of us on the boat (including the crew of 2), and you could climb a ladder up to a little upper deck. My niece and I along with 2 others opted to do that. The sunset was amazing! It was a great way to say goodbye to Zanzibar!

My niece and I will never forget our African experience! As I said, words cannot come close to describing what an amazing time we had. We will forever hold Jonas and Bariki in our hearts and be grateful to them for making our trip so SPECIAL!!

Kenya/Tanzania Oct 2019 (from Canada)
We travelled to Kenya/Tanzania in Oct 2019. Planning through Soul of Tanzania was a breeze! Lidia was our contact person and extremely helpful. Her responses were prompt and professional. Very flexible with changes to the itinerary or accommodations. And she kept me informed at every step along the way which was very appreciated. Lidia even called to check on us a couple times along our route to ensure things were going well.
Kenya
The Kenya portion of our trip was provided by Spirit of Kenya.
The vehicle was a van (vs a safari jeep) with a pop up roof. The van was a bit older, but still got the job done.
Raphael was our guide. There were a lot of times we were unable to hear everything he was telling us – mostly because of the noise in the van.
Our accommodations were as expected, permanent tented sites. Clean and comfortable. Meals provided on the site were good. The lunches provided were not as expected. We anticipated a warm lunch as was described through Soul of Tanzania. However what was received were box lunches with a sandwich, piece of chicken and piece of fruit. Good, but a little disappointing.
Tanzania
Our safari vehicle in Tanzania was clean and comfortable. It was a safari jeep with a pop up roof.
Elinasi was our guide. He was great! So much information was given to us about the animals and birds that we saw. Lots of interesting facts. Elinasi was very clear with any decisions we needed to make along the way and strived to make our tour exactly what we were looking for…. Including trying to beat our record of 20 lions in a day and finding a couple leopards in a tree for me! (that happened twice!)
The lunches provided were good. It was nice to have the table set with a cloth and dishes and to have a warm meal while others around were having boxed sandwich meals.
Accommodations were what was anticipated (some were better). Permanent tented sites, good meals and some wildlife during the night. Perfect!
Overall, I would recommend Soul of Tanzania to anyone looking for ease of planning and a wonderful safari experience. Be sure to ask for Lidia in the office and Elinasi as your guide.

It was one of the memorable experience we had in Tanzania and Serengeti. Jonas and his local agency were very professional and everything was according to the itinerary. The guide was very knowledgeable and courteous.
In short, we loved the beautiful country of Tanzania and all the national parks.

I have just returned from a 13-day safari through Tanzania and Kenya organized by Jonas, local expert in Tanzania. The trip was superb, one of the best I have ever taken. Jonas and his team were in close contact with me during the entire planning phase and made sure that my needs and wishes as a single traveler were fully satisfied. Trip.me is also to be recommended for its competence in making all financial transactions between trip.me and myself clear and easy to process.
The safari itself was excellent, not only because of the beauty and variety of the natural habitat but thanks to the professional and knowledgeable driver/guide. His knowledge of the terrain and sharp eye meant that I had a constant visual feast of the natural wonders of the Tanzanian northern plains. The cross-over to the Kenyan side for an additional four days went without a problem and allowed me to extend my visit further into the Masai Mara.
Overall, I can only compliment trip.me, and in particular Jonas and his staff, for the excellent preparation and organization of the trip and the warm and personalized service that they provided. It is both the beauty of the country and the warm personalized reception I received from Jonas that have convinced me to return to the country in the future.
