Welcome To Sri Lanka
Welcome to Kalpitiya! You will be warmly welcomed at the Bandaranaike International Airport. From there, you will drive to Kalpitiya peninsula, one of the most beautiful coastal stretches in Sri Lanka. Upon arrival at the hotel, you can spend the rest of the day at leisure by the beach. Prepare yourself for tomorrow, because then the real adventure will start!
Watch The Blue Whales
Are you ready? After a delicious breakfast, you will leave the docks in the wee hours of the morning to beat the sun and watch a magnificent sight of the arrival of pods of dolphins and whales in the Indian Ocean. The lively performance of the dolphins swimming alongside your boat and the calm yet colossal whales gliding underneath the surface of the water will leave you astounded. You will see the giant blue whales in addition to the common dolphins, spinner dolphins, bottle-nosed dolphins, Risso’s dolphins and the occasional pantropical spotted and striped dolphins accompanied by their giant relatives the blue whales, sperm whales, Bryde’s whales, Fin Whales and the random killer whales that come to Sri Lanka, make the country one of the prominent places to spot these marine mammals.
You will return to the hotel after your eventful day at the sea and stay overnight.
Spot The Leopard In The Park
Today is a day you will never forget! In the morning, you will drive to Wilpattu National Park to see the leopard. You will embark on a safari to the midst of wilderness and spot the many creatures of the wild making an appearance for your benefit. Wilpattu is home to many sloth bears that are commonly seeing crossing the roads and hidden among the trees while the elusive big cat, the leopards, will occasionally emerge at random spots. Lone elephants and babies often accompanied by their mothers are a common sight on a game drive through Wilpattu. After a full day of adventure in the wilderness, you will return to your hotel to stay overnight.
A Parade Of Elephants Await You
Today, a parade of elephants awaits you at the Minneriya National Park. The largest gathering of elephants takes place at Minneriya. Several large flocks of jumbos gather around the shores of the Minneriya Tank for their daily water fill and frolick with their playmates in the water. The gathered mammals generally count up to 300 and on the rare occasion are said to exceed 700! Be there to witness this once in a lifetime opportunity that will leave you astounded. After a full day through the rough terrains, you will travel to Sigiriya and spend the night at a hotel.
Climb The Sigiriya Rock Fortress
Today, you will climb the 5th Century UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. The huge rocky boulder was converted into a palace and military fortress by King Kasyapa who fled his kingdom after committing patricide. Also known as the unofficial 8th World Wonder, the boulder is famous for the lion paws at the foot of the staircase leading to the peak. The walls have been painted with images of deities also believed to be that of King Kasyapa’s consorts. The water gardens at the top still function perfectly leaving the modern day engineers baffled about the mechanisms behind them. You will leave for Trincomalee in the evening and stay overnight at a beach hotel in the Eastern Coast.
A Sea Adventure At Trinco
After breakfast, you will embark on another sea adventure to spot the mighty mammals of the sea. Watch the dolphins and whales frequent the Eastern Coast adding Trinco among the best locations to see the cetaceans. After the day at sea, you will return to your hotel to rest and spend the night.
A Magnificent Tour In Ella
In the morning, you will drive to Ella. The scenic route to Ella, filled with continuous landscapes of tea plantations is a treat for the eyes. You will visit a tea factory where the all-important conversion of freshly picked tea leaves is processed into world famous Ceylon tea. After your guided tour and demonstration at the factory, you will return to your hotel for overnight stay.
A Jeep Safari At The Park
You will enjoy an adventure in the wilderness that starts with a jeep safari into Yala National Park. The highlight of today is seeing the sloth bears. The highest concentration of spotted leopards calls Yala their home. Spot the elusive big cat confidently stepping out of the thick jungle for the delight of all visitors. Elephants and sloth bears are accompanied by many other creatures of the wild like the crocodile sunbathing by the shores of the pond and the deer grazing on the green grass, are common sights on a game drive. After a full day in the park, spend your night closer to Mother Nature by camping out near the borders of the National Park. Have a traditional Sri Lankan dinner by a campfire and under the starry sky and be lulled into sleep by the distant roars of the mighty leopards and the call of the elephants to their young ones.
A Full Day Of Game Drive
You will travel to Udawalawe National Park where free wild elephants thrive. You will enjoy a full day game drive in search of the more commonly seen herds of elephants and the other wild beasts of the jungle which include the seldom sloth bear, monkeys and purple-faced langurs, spotted deer and the many crocodiles sunbathing by the shores of lakes. You will see birds of different colors and sizes dot the sky and tree tops claiming the sky their own. If you're lucky, you might even spot the elusive big cat of the jungle, the leopard. After the day eventful day, you will return to your hotel at Udawalawe for an overnight stay.
In Search For The Marine Turtles
Today, you will travel to Tangalle in search of the marine turtles. Sri Lanka is host to many turtles that come ashore to lay their eggs. The endangered leatherback turtle is often spotted making its way laboriously op the sandy beach to deposit the next generation of its lineage in the care of the underground warmth. A moonlight stroll under the starry sky and silent watch will reveal many turtles making their way to the shore to dig burrows and lay their precious eggs. You will witness the miraculous moment stealthily in the dark and beware not to spook them! After the long night watch, you will return to the beach hotel for a long resting sleep.
Enjoy A Day At The Beach
In the morning, you will travel to the southwest part of Sri Lanka to enjoy the marvelous beaches on the coast. You will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your own leisure. You can swim and walk on the shore enjoying the feel of the white sand on your feet.

Wake up to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore and feel the cool sea breeze touch your face. Are you excited to do more beach activities today? There are plenty of activities you can do such as diving and snorkeling. You can also try out the water sports: water-skiing, jet-skiing, windsurfing, sailing, rowing, and canoeing are all very popular activities.
