Wake up before the sun, pack your breakfast and enjoy it on the way. Today you'll be visiting the misty grassland plateau of Horton Plains, a national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Only about 20km from Nuwara Eliya, this strange and mysterious place has a beautiful silence about it. It's the perfect place to get lost in nature and take some excellent walks.
The most amazing feature of Horton Plains is World’s End, where the southern part of the plains drop almost vertically for 700m. This will be your first stop, so you can see the incredible site at dawn with all the mountains free of mist and the sun just rising. Once you have enjoyed some spectacular hikes, you will return to the hotel where you can relax for the rest of the day.
See the Last Ancient Capital of Sri Lanka - Kandy
Today you'll experience one of Sri Lanka's most famous highlights - a scenic train ride to Kandy. Hang out the doors of this local train and take in all the incredible landscapes rolling by you.
Once you arrive in Kandy, you'll start by exploring some of the city's most beautiful temples. Visit places like Temple of the Tooth, Gadaladeniya temple, and the big Buddha statue.
