Flamenco and Dinner to Start the Trip
Welcome to Barcelona. In accordance with your flight schedule, you will be picked up by private transfer from the Barcelona El Prat Airport and driven to your hotel.
Check in to the luxurious and specially selected hotel situated in the historic center of the city and take some time to freshen up.
For your first day in Spain, we have prepared a Flamenco Show with dinner. Your dinner will be accompanied by a magical and authentic Flamenco show in a unique tablao! Take a taxi from your hotel and enjoy a traditional meal and a vibrant show.
Exploring Gaudi's Barcelona
After breakfast in your hotel, you'll get to explore the city’s most famous and colorful architecture on your Gaudí Highlights Tour.
Our expert guide will meet you at the hotel to begin the tour right on Passeig de Gracia, a broad avenue that was built for and by the wealthy citizens of Barcelona in the early 1900s. The street today is lined with luxury designer shops and dotted with modernist lampposts and tiled pavement, both designed by Gaudi himself. Next, you will head to Sagrada Familia, Gaudi’s most impressive masterpiece. With fast-track entrance tickets, your guide will take you straight inside so you can gaze in awe at the colorful light spilling through the stained glass windows and the fantastic atmosphere.
To round up the day you will visit Park Guell, a playful park with winding paths and many sculptures and mosaics designed by Gaudi himself and an incredible view of the city.
Dragon Hunting in the Gothic District
Today’s adventure will have you searching for dragons and making your own art!
Your expert guide will take you on a quest around Barcelona’s oldest neighborhoods as your family hunts for the most famous dragons of the city! Learn all about Barcelona’s fascinating and colorful history as you walk the cobble-stoned streets of the Gothic Quarter, taking in the vibrant sites, all the while hearing legends and stories from medieval times. You’ll be searching for the city’s most famous dragons as you walk along, using your trusty dragon-hunting equipment and earning points when you spot the hidden beasts throughout the city.
After this walking tour through the old parts of town, your guide will take you to a local art workshop, where you’ll learn the Gaudi mosaic techniques and create your own Barcelona dragon to take home with you!
Gastronomy in Catalonia
From chocolate and croissants to ham and delicious cheeses, today you’ll eat your way through Barcelona’s most vibrant and colorful markets. Your expert local foodie advisor will meet you in your hotel lobby for your private market experience. Together you will stroll through fascinating markets like the Boquería and in this hands-on way learn about Catalonian traditions and cuisine.
After the tour, a private transfer will be ready for you to take you from your hotel to the airport to catch your flight to San Sebastian. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and accompanied by private transfer to your luxurious hotel, where you will spend the night.
Sight-seeing and Pintxos
Today you'll embark on a private tour of San Sebastian, its sites and tastes! You’ll explore the historic Old Town and visit the best pintxos bars for lunch. San Sebastian is known for its amazing cuisine and beautiful views, both of which you will experience today!
First, you'll admire San Sebastian from its best viewpoint, Mount Igueldo, which will give you a full perspective of the city. Along the way, you’ll stop at the Wind Combs, a unique sculpture created by a local artist that has become a symbol of the city.
Your guide will then take you through the streets of Old Town, mesmerizing you with stories. folklore legends, rumors, and the history behind it all.
You’ll dive straight into the culinary heart of the city for a day of eating and drinking unlike any you’ve ever experienced. Round up the day with something sweet such as San Sebastian’s award-winning, traditional cheesecake.
San Sebastian's Countryside
Today you'll experience the countryside surrounding San Sebastian. After breakfast, you will be picked up from the hotel to embark on a private, full-day adventure through the quaint villages that dot the Basque countryside. You’ll head to Hernio Mountain and the primitive Ekain Caves, where you’ll discover stunning cave paintings from over 15,000 years ago!
You’ll also explore Zumaya, home to one of the longest stretch of continuous rock strata in the world, and the fishing village of Getaria, home of the first man to sail around the world – Juan Sebastian Elcano.
For dinner tonight, we suggest mom and dad head to one of San Sebastian’s amazing Michelin Star restaurants for a romantic evening!
Experience Idiazabal Cheese-making
You aren’t quite finished exploring the wild Basque Country! Meet your guide at the hotel for an exciting morning on an authentic cheese farm nestled in the rolling Basque hills. Here your family will learn all about the process of making Idiazabal cheese on a guided tour with the shepherd. Start with a walk through the pastures to meet the sheep and the shepherd’s prized companion, his beloved dog, and watch him at work herding the sheep.
You’ll then head to the milking shed to learn about the cheese-making process. Later, you’ll sit down to taste their best, homemade samples of cheese before heading back to San Sebastian.
Filled up with good cheese you'll be taken to your hotel to collect your bags and bid farewell to the Basque Country. You fly to Barcelona and from there will be taken by private transfer to your hotel on the Costa Brava (2 hours driving) where you'll spend the rest of the trip.
History and Tapas in Girona
Today your driver will take you for a short drive inland, where you’ll spend the day discovering the fascinating medieval city of Girona through its unique history and exquisite cuisine! You’ll meet your local guide there for a walking tour with treats through the city.
The city of Girona boasts years of historical importance, having passed through the hands of Romans, Moors, and Francs. Start off in the oldest parts of the city, discovering hidden gems and hearing the secret stories and legends behind this Catalan fortress. As you make your way along, you’ll also explore the gastronomical side of Girona, stopping in the local market to meet the bakers and farmers who bring their products to sell, often continuing family traditions of many generations.
Try mouth-watering tapas along the way, including cheeses, olives, traditional meats and much more.
Active Day on the Mediterranean Coast
Get ready for an active day on the Mediterranean Sea! Meet your driver in the hotel lobby for a full-day, private tour of the beautiful region of Costa Brava. You will walk with your expert guide along the rocky coast following the historical “Camí de Ronda” path, where you will uncover the impressive pine forests next to the sea and the most beautiful natural bays.
Later on, you will visit nearby medieval villages with cobble-stoned Gothic Quarters, old city walls and a wide range of interesting nooks and crannies.
Unfortunately, your trip has come to an end and it is time to say 'Goodbye'. You will spend one last night in your luxury hotel and then in the morning after breakfast will get ready for homebound on onward travels. We hope you enjoyed this family vacation and will come back soon!
