Welcome To Lima!
Upon the arrival of your international flight at Jorge Chavez airport in Lima, an English-speaking representative will greet you and welcome you to Peru. You will receive all necessary travel documents and will be taken by private transfer to your hotel.
You have the first night to discover the surrounding neighborhood in Lima, indulge in a first traditional Peruvian dinner or stay at your hotel and sleep off the jetlag.
Desert Meets The Ocean
In the morning you will be driven to Lima's bus terminal, from where you will take an overland bus departing to Paracas. Look out the window and admire the passing landscape, Peruvian towns, and traditional architecture. Upon arrival at the bus terminal, a driver will be waiting for you and drive you by private transfer to your hotel.
You have the afternoon free to relax and enjoy by the swimming pool at your comfortable hotel.
Fascinating Sand Dunes and Little Galapagos
You will leave our hotel before 8 am in the morning to hop on a boat to visit what is often called the 'little Galapagos island'. This two-hour boat ride will take you to the Ballestas islands, famous for their rich marine life.
On the way there you will make a stop to take in the sight of the "Candelabro de Paracas" (Paracas chandelier in English). This geoglyph is approximately 180m high and 70m long with uncertain origins is often associated with the Nazca geoglyphs.
Thanks to the rich wildlife at Ballestas islands it will not be hard to spot penguins, sea lions, pelicans, and other animals living on these islands.
In the afternoon, you will participate in an excursion to the nearby desert of Paracas, where you will experiment a ride through the dunes by sand-buggy.
The Magic of Paracas Nature Reserve
Today you have a day to take in more of this incredible desert near the ocean: Stroll freely through the Paracas Nature Reserve, one of the largest ocean parks in the world, with the highest concentration of seabirds. As the area is very wide we suggest you rent bikes and bring a lot of water on your day trip.
In the afternoon you will leave Paracas and travel back to Lima by bus. At Lima's bus terminal a driver will be waiting for you and accompany you by private transfer to your hotel.
Scenic Flight To Cusco
Today you will be transferred to the Lima airport to catch a flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, an English-speaking driver will be waiting for you and take you to your hotel.
You have the afternoon free to explore Cusco, the navel of the Inca world. We suggest you take in Cusco on a walking tour, and without a specific destination in mind roam through the narrow cobblestoned alleys, sit down for a drink on one of the many plazas (squares) to observe the bustling life in the city and visit the local shops selling handmade or Peruvian products.
Exploring The Sacred Valley
Today you will spend a playful day exploring the Sacred Valley. You will be an explorer and go in search of clues that will lead you to a precious Inca treasure. During one or two days you will solve riddles and challenges in the heart of the most beautiful Incan sites of Cusco. In this playful way, you will explore the historic center of Cusco and the Temple of the Sun, the ruins and the Pisac market, the ruins of Moray, Chinchero, Q’enqo, and Sacsayhuaman.
Sacsayhuaman and Q’enqo are two important archaeological sights around Cusco which you will discover in the afternoon. You will also walk through the historical center of Cusco, where you will come across the Koricancha (Temple of the Sun). Next on the list of you as an explorer is a visit to the Cathedral of Cusco, where several paintings of the Cusco School and many gold and silver pieces and precious stone objects are displayed.
The Mystery Of Inca Ruins
You have another day to discover the Sacred Valley. Early in the morning, a driver will pick you up to drive out of Cusco.
The first stop will be at the colonial village of Chinchero to visit the colonial church and the Inca ruins. We continue to Moray, famous for its terraces that served as an agricultural laboratory to the Incas. To end our day we will reach the village of Maras and discover the impressive salt flats perched in the middle of the Andean mountains!
Here you have the option to walk down from the village of Maras into the valley. Your driver will be there for you and pick you up to head back to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.
Visiting the Citadel of Machu Picchu
The big day is here: Today you will visit the Citadel of Machu Picchu.
You will be taken to Ollantaytambo's train station, from where you will travel onward to Aguas Calientes in a panoramic train. From the train station, you will hop on the shuttle bus and arrive at the archaeological site of Machu Picchu. Your English-speaking guide will introduce you to this ancient Inca city of the 15th century. Abandoned during the collapse of the Incan empire, it was forgotten for centuries until the archeologist Hiram Bingham discovered the sacred city in 1911. After the 2.5 hours tour, you have the option to climb Huayna Picchu or Montaña Machu Picchu for a view on the citadel.
This visit will leave impressed! On the train ride back to Poroy you will have the chance to talk more in detail about your impressions from the day. Your driver will pick you up and take you to your hotel for a good night's rest.
A Day For Your Sweet Tooth
Today you will visit the Chocolate Museum of Cusco to discover the secrets of cocoa culture and learn how to make your own chocolate bar from Peruvian cocoa beans. You will learn everything about chocolate, discover the different stages in the chocolate-making process and bring home the finished product. This is an activity that will delight the youngest and thrill the most gourmand travelers!
When you cannot taste any more of the chocolate you will be picked up by your driver and taken to Cusco's airport. You will travel to Lima, where your driver will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel.
At sunset time you will departure by private vehicle for a night show of sounds and lights called "the Magic Waters circuit" tracing the different elements of the Peruvian cultural heritage.
Unfortunately, this family adventure has come to an end. Depending on your time of departure you have the day to spend at your own pace in Lima.
Three hours before take-off, a driver will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Jorge Chavez Airport in Lima., from where you will have your onward or homebound flight.
