Welcome To Peru!
Welcome to Peru and Lima!
Upon your arrival, you will be met by your friendly, English-speaking local representative and you’ll head to Miraflores in your private transport.
Once at your hotel, check in and then you'll be free to relax and wander around this beautiful part of Lima at your own pace. You have plenty of options for making the most of your first day in Lima.
Be Amazed By Lima's History
Go back in time through the Colonial and Pre-Hispanic stages of Peruvian History. Your first stop will be at the Larco Museum.
After, head to Lima’s City Centre to have a look at its imposing architecture. Here, you can visit the 16th Century Santo Domingo Convent and have a look at Lima’s main square. You can instead choose to go on a gastronomic tour of Lima, or a bike ride.
Travel Through The Lovely Andes
After breakfast, head back to Lima airport to take your flight to Cusco, the old Inca Capital. If possible, try to book a seat on the left side of the aircraft as some of the best views of the Andes can be seen while looking east.
Upon arriving, you’ll be met by local staff who will be expecting you with a sign with your name. Once acquainted, head to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Because of its lower elevation and its peaceful atmosphere, the Sacred Valley is the perfect place to enjoy your first days in Cusco as you adapt to the high altitude.
Gaze At The Splendid Sacred Valley
Today, you will visit the Ollantaytambo archaeological site, an impressive Inca complex that protected this area from incursions from the Amazon Basin.
Ollantaytambo is one of the best examples of Inca architecture you can see nowadays. Visiting it in the morning will allow you to enjoy this site to the fullest before the larger crowds arrive in the afternoon.
For lunch, you can experience a traditional cooking technique called Pachamanca. Other available options for today include visiting a local community or going hiking with llamas.
Marvel At Machu Picchu
Today, after enjoying a nice breakfast, we'll head to Ollantaytambo train station to board the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Town). The train journey is a spectacle itself as we'll be able to appreciate the changing landscape from green fields and eucalyptus forests to lush jungle always traveling beside the meandering Urubamba River.
Upon arriving, we take a 20-minute bus up the steep zigzagging road to Machu Picchu Citadel, located on an impressive mountain setting. On arrival, together with our guide, we'll explore just about every corner of the famous Inca site during which we'll be happy to answer any question you may have. After this unique visit, we’ll head down to Aguas Calientes and have some free time before taking our train back to Ollantaytambo and private transfer to our hotel.
Enjoy A Scenic Drive
In the morning, your transport will be ready to pick you up and transfer you back to Cusco. On route, we’ll be crossing the village of Chinchero, famous for its textile workshops.
On arrival, you will have a reception and be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to spend as you want in Cusco.
Visit Majestic Cusco
Enjoy a delicious breakfast, and then the day is yours to enjoy. Cusco is one of the most interesting cities in Peru and South America.
Today we'll have the entire day to explore the streets and plazas of this UNESCO World Heritage City at our own pace.
Explore Chulpas At Puno
Today, at the coordinated time, you’ll head for Cusco airport and board your flight to Juliaca airport. Upon arriving, you’ll be welcomed by your local guide and head to your hotel on the outskirts of Puno.
On route, you’ll make a very interesting stop at Sillustani, located at the shores of Lake Umayo. This visit will allow you to observe something a bit different to Lake Titicaca.
You'll be visiting an amazing burial site made up of huge cylindrical tombs called "Chulpas". Most of the tombs are from before the Incas. Sillustani is an area full of energy and mystery.
Navigate The Crystal Waters Of Lake Titicaca
We’ll set sail at 7 am for the floating reed islands of Uros, located just out of Puno Bay in Lake Titicaca. Upon arrival, we’ll disembark on these bizarre artificial islands to spend some time at the Uros community. We’ll learn about how these islands are built using reed gathered from the shores of the lake and locals we’ll prepare a presentation on how they used to make a living through fishing and trade (nowadays its mostly tourism). Next, we head to Taquile, a Mediterranean-like island where we'll spend around three hours relaxing and exploring this beautiful place. Their colorful clothing, as well as their unique knitted and woven textile handicrafts, is also spectacular to see. Return to Puno estimated at 5:30 pm.
Later this afternoon, at around 6:30 pm, we’ll make way to Juliaca airport in order to board our return flight to Lima. Upon arriving in Lima, reception, and transfer to your hotel in the seaside district of Miraflores.
You’ll have most of your last day in Peru to relax and enjoy the parks, cafés, restaurants, and shops of Miraflores.
Then at the coordinated time, we’ll head back to Lima airport in time for your international flight home. Safe travels, and visit again soon!
