Welcome to Peru!

Welcome to Lima, your starting off point for your 13 day adventure through the Andean region of South America.

Upon arrival at Jorge Chavez Airport in Lima, an English-speaking representative will welcome you at the airport before assisting you with your luggage and transporting you into the heart of the city for your stay at the Britania Hotel.

With your travel documents in hand, feel free to spend the rest of the day relaxing at the hotel or if you feel like getting a head start on the adventure, spend the rest of the day exploring the city at your own pace and leisure.

Day 1

Lima - Cusco  

Wander Around the Highlights of Cusco

It's time to take flight! An English-speaking assistant will accompany you from the airport to the hotel, the San Agustin Internacional.

With your bags down and your camera at the ready, head out for a half-day dedicated to the discovery of Cusco's historic downtown.

First, visit the Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), and the Cathedral, both exhibiting paintings from the School of Cusco and a plethora of goldsmith's art, silver and precious stone treasures.

Then, walk down to the San Blas quarter, know for its artistic atmosphere to wind down your day.

Day 2

Cusco - Moray - Aguas Calientes  

Discover the Awe-Inspiring Sacred Valley of the Incas

You'll depart this morning in a private vehicle for an all-day excursion to explore the Sacred Valley.

The first stop will be a visit to the village of Chinchero to visit the colonial era church and the Inca ruins. Then, continue your excursion to the village of Maras and the salt flats perched in the cordillera there!

After lunch, you'll visit the cultural site of Moray, an ancient Inca agricultural laboratory, before continuing on toward Ollantaytambo. Finally, hop on the train to Aguas Calientes, the starting point for your visit to Machu

Day 3

Machu Picchu - Poroy - Cusco  

Breathe in the View of Machu Picchu

Wake up and get excited, knowing today you'll be on your way to the dizzying heights and breathtaking view of Machu Picchu. 

A direct shuttle service will drive you to the 15th-century ancient Inca city. Abandoned during the collapse of the empire, it was forgotten for centuries. It is considered an architecture feat and was rediscovered in 1911.

In addition to its UNESCO World Heritage status, it was voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Discover the archaeological complex together with your English-speaking guide.

Afterwards, catch the train back to Poroy before meeting our representative at the train station to transfer you to your hotel for the night.

Day 4

Cusco - Sicuani - Puno  

Journey to Surreal Puno

In the company of your English-speaking guide, you'll make your way from the hotel to the bus terminal to depart to Puno, located on the shores of Lake Titicaca.

Enjoy the wonderful landscapes along the road while going over the Raya Pass which sits at an altitude of 4320 meters. Visit the Pukara Museum, the archaeological site of Raqchi and the “Sistine Chapel” of the Andes in Andahuaylillas before feasting in a buffet lunch at Sicuani.

An English-speaking guide, exclusive to the bus company, will take part in the journey and give information along the way. You’ll be met at the Puno bus station by a representative before being transferred to your hotel.

Day 5

Puno - Titicaca Lake  

Immerse Yourself in the Culture of the Uros Community on Lake Titicaca

In the morning, you'll transfer to the Puno Harbor and embark on a collective boat tour for the islands of Uros and Taquile with an English/Spanish-speaking guide.

Visit the floating islands built by the Uros people, whose main activity is fishing before heading to Taquile, an island  whose inhabitants have remained without contact with the outside world for four centuries and have thus preserved their ancestral traditions.

Men knit, women weave, and you will discover the meaning of the different hats they wear before heading back to Puno in the afternoon.

Day 6

Puno - Desaguadero - La Paz  

Say Goodbye to Peru and Hello to Bolivia

Now that you've seen and experience the best that Peru has to offer, it's time to cross over to neighboring Bolivia!

Take your private transportation from Puno to Desaguadero and meet your driver at the border for Bolivian immigration after the bridge.

After a quick check, you'll continue your journey in a private vehicle to La Paz. Despite being neighbors, you'll notice a quaint cultural shift between the two peoples who have so much in common.

Day 7

La Paz  

Explore the Main Sights of La Paz

Your private driver will pick you up in the hotel lobby for a full-day tour around the highlights of the city including an intrepid journey into the Moon Valley.

La Paz, the world’s highest capital, is surrounded by the high peaks of the Andes. From many parts of the city, you'll be able to admire the white summits of the Cordillera Real and the imposing Illimani, the protector of the city.

Go to the K’Illi K’Illi mirador and Laykakota Park to enjoy a panoramic view over the capital, and visit the romantic Montículo in the bohemian Sopocachi area. You can also ride one of the scenic cable cars in the city.

Finally drive to the Moon Valley and walk amongst the lunar rock formations. Once back in La Paz, walk around and delve into its colorful markets.

Day 8


Marvel at the Surreal Beauty of the Salar de Uyuni

A private driver will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the airport to catch your domestic flight to Uyuni where you'll discover the world’s largest salt desert!

In a private jeep, you'll drive to the Salar de Uyuni, stopping at the village of Colchani to visit its salt hotel along the way before continuing until you reach the Incahuasi island.

This surprising island lost in the middle of the salar offers an incredible view over the salt desert and the several volcanoes that surround it. Of volcanic origin, it is covered with stromatolites and giant cacti.

In the afternoon, keep driving until you reach the village of San Juan, where you’ll spend the night. This small village is famous for its surprising mummies of the “Lipez Lords” and its small museum.

Day 9

San Juan - Chiguana - Tomasamil  

Explore Magnificent Uyuni

Today, you'll begin your journey across the Sur Lipez area, a region of vaast colorful landscapes and lagoons, rock formations and volcanoes.

First, cross the small Salar de Chiguana at the foot of the Tomasamil Volcano before climbing to viewpoint of the Ollagüe Volcano. This volcano is still active and it shelters one of the world’s highest open pit copper mines.

Drive south along the Chilean border on the scenic “Route of the Jewels”, which owes its name to all the lagoons along its way: Honda, Ch’arkota, Hedionda, Cañapa. These lagoons are home to three specific species of flamingoes.

Your trek continues in the middle of the superb landscapes of the Siloli Desert, where your hotel for tonight is located.

Day 10

Laguna Colorada - Villamar  

Marvel at the Breathtaking Lagoons in Uyuni

Today you'll have a long day of riding across a vast plethora of scenic landscapes.

First, cross the Siloli Desert and discover its famous “Stone Tree”. Afterwards, reach the Laguna Colorada, an immense lake of pinkish water which owes its name to the presence of light sensitive phytoplankton, which also attract thousands of flamingos during certain times of the year.

Continue your way on to the geysers of Sol de Mañana, a volcanic crater with sulphur springs and boiling mud. before stopping at the Polques thermal springs.

Keep going until you reach the Laguna Salada and the Dali Desert. Here the strong wind have created surreal rock formations reminiscent of the Spanish artist, Salvador Dali.

For lunch we will break at Laguna Blanca and Laguna Verde before driving back to Laguna Colorada in the afternoon.

Day 11

Uyuni - La Paz  

Journey to Valle de las Rocas

Set off in the morning and cross the region of Rio Grande and the Valle de las Rocas (“Stone Valley”), home to numerous vicuñas and ñandus.

Stop in the village of San Cristobal, where you can visit a beautiful colonial church before heading back to Uyuni, home to an eerie train cemetery in the outskirts of the town. Here the collection of old rusted train engines will remind you of the glorious mining past of the region.

Your private driver will take you to the airport in the evening to catch your flight to La Paz.

La Paz  

Farewell Bolivia!

It's been a whirlwind. Having seen the best that these two unique countries with their own vibrant histories and culture have on offer, you'll be taken to the airport to for a final adieu.
