Peru’s Picturesque Coastal Desert
This morning, after an early breakfast, it is time for us to return to the coast to enjoy our final days in the desert and next to the ocean. We’ll return to Lunahuana and then continue for approximately two hours heading south along the coast. Our goal is to reach Paracas, a small beach town in Paracas Bay, which is also the gateway into the Paracas Marine National Reserve and the surrounding desert.
We’ll check into our beachside hotel and we can relax for the rest of the afternoon. If you fancy seeing a little more of the area, we can enter the nearby Paracas Reserve (about 15 minutes away), where we can show you some impressive desert and ocean viewpoints at sunset.
Exploring Ballesta Islands and Departure Day
This morning at around 8 am, we’ll board the fully equipped speedboats departing from our hotel Pier towards the Ballestas Islands, also known as the little Galapagos because of the great variety of marine wildlife that inhabit them such as Sealions, Humboldt Penguins and various other marine bird species. On route, our boat stops to observe the "The Chandelier", an enigmatic figure that can only be seen from the sea.
Upon returning, we’ll still have a few more hours to relax in sunny Paracas before it is time to begin our return journey to Lima and Miraflores.
