Enjoy your Journey to Cusco

Your stay in Lima won't be long, this morning you will be driven back to the airport to catch your flight with destination Cusco.

At Cusco airport you will be greeted and transferred to the hotel.

You have the afternoon to explore Cusco, the navel of the Inca world. Take a walk through the many small cobbled streets of the city, dive into one of the many shops for souvenirs like clothes, jewelry and decoration or just take a rest on one of the squares and observe the busy life.

Exploration of the Old City of Cusco

After breakfast you will leave the hotel for a half-day tour dedicated to the discovery of Cuzco's historical downtown.

In the morning, you will visit the Koricancha (Temple of the Sun) and Cusco Cathedral, exhibiting some paintings from the School of Cuzco and many goldsmith’s art, silver and precious stones treasures. Then you will walk down to the San Blas quarter (the artists’ place).

You'll have another afternoon to explore Cusco and learn more about the Inca city at your own pace.

Cusco - Pisac - Aguas Calientes  

Discover the Sacred Valley

Early in the morning you will be picked up in a private vehicle on a day trip to explore the Sacred Valley. The first stop will be at the ruins of Pisac, one of the main Inca sites, where the different areas are scattered on the mountainside. Here you can see the large terraces that were used for agriculture and were protected from the effects of erosion.

Then you will take a walk through the colorful handicraft market before taking to the road again, this time in the direction of the salt flats of Maras which since Incan times, have collected salt water from a local source.

You will then walk down to the Urumbamba River where the vehicle awaits to take us on to Ollantaytambo, the last Inca architecture village to still be inhabited. From there you will take a train to Aguas Calientes, the starting point for visiting Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo - Cusco  

Visit Magical Machu Picchu

This morning you will get up early to take the shuttle bus up to the citadel of Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu is an ancient Incan city from the 15th century in Peru. Abandoned during the collapse of the Inca empire, the sacred city of the Incas, was forgotten for centuries. It is considered as a masterpiece of the architecture of this civilization. It was unveiled by the American archaeologist Hiram Bingham in 1911 and then in 1983 declared UNESCO World Heritage. You have the option to also visit Huayna Picchu or Montaña Machu Picchu to get a view from above of the site and you'll join a guided tour before taking the train back to Ollantaytambo.

You will be welcomed at the Ollantaytambo train station and taken by transfer to your hotel in Cusco.

Travel from Peru to Ecuador

It's time to say goodbye to Peru and move on to Ecuador.

With English speaking assistance you will be driven from your hotel to the airport to hop on a flight from Cusco via Lima to Guayaquil in Ecuador. In Guayaquil a Spanish speaking driver will take you from the airport to your hotel.

You have the rest of the day to explore Guayaquil or to relax in the comforts of your hotel.

Guayaquil - Baltra - Santa Cruz  

Welcome to the Galapagos!

By private transport with a Spanish speaking driver you will travel back to the airport to catch a flight to Baltra. After a drop-off at your hotel (with a private driver) you will visit the "Parte Alta" and Gemelos with an English-speaking guide and driver. 

Located in the high part, the hill Crocker offers a beautiful view of Santa Cruz, its extinct volcanoes and endemic vegetation. The Puntudo, a cone of volcanic dross is, another lookout point with a spectacular sight of the island. 

Next you will visit the farm of Manzanillo to observe the huge tortoises and take a walk among them. From there you will travel on to "Los Gemelos", a unique volcanic formation that resulted from volcanic eruptions. The last stop for the day is the Charles Darwin Station, where you learn about the conservation efforts of Galapagos plants, land iguanas, and giant Galapagos Tortoises.

Day 7

Puerto Ayora - Puerto Villamil  

Visit the Serene Isabel Island

Today you will travel from Santa Cruz to Isabel by private transfer form the hotel, speedboat, small taxiboat and pick-up to your hotel in Isabel.

Upon arrival you take e a long walk to the bay of Concha Perla. This path was built by the National park of the Galapagos between mangrove swamps and it will bring you to a small pier where from you can jump in the water or practise diving in these quiet and transparent waters.

Next you will travel to the "Tintoreras", small volcanic rocks islands that are in front of Puerto Villamil, by boat. Here everything evolves around the marine life: diving, photography, observation with explanations of a naturalist guide, or simply stroll with colonies of sea lions, turtles, iguanas, sharks, penguins, and a myriad of other species of flora and the endemic fauna of the Galapagos.

Day 8

Puerto Villamil  

Be Amazed at Beaches and Lava Formations

You will be picked up at your hotels and driven to Port Villamil, where you will board a shared boat that will take you to the Tuneles. Los Tuneles is one of the best places to practice diving since it offers calm, transparent and shallow waters.

Its geological formations made up of lava formed a large number of arches and tunnels inside and out of the water give refuge to giant rays and sea turtles. Upon finishing the snorkling tour you will travel back to Port Villamil.

In the afternoon you have many options to explore more of Isabela: Relax on the sandy beaches, take a bike trip to the Wall of Tears, visit the turtle breeding center or take far away excursions like a boat trips to Cabo Rosa or a hike around the Sierra Negra volcano.

Day 9

Puerto Villamil - Puerto Ayora  

Explore Stunning Santa Cruz

Today you will travel onward from Isabela to Santa Cruz by private transfer and then a public speedboat. Upon arrival in Santa Cruz a private Spanish-speaking driver will welcome you and take you to your hotel. You have the rest of the day to explore Santa Cruz and there are many options:

Visit several destinations like Seymour Norte, Santa Fe or Bachas by boat to enjoy hiking, snorkeling, wildlife viewing. Visit the Charles Darwin Centre. Take a walk to Las Grietas, a lava crevice where you can swim in peace and enjoy the landscape combining volcanic rock, endemic cacti of the islands (Opuntia), oxidized marshes ("Humedales") with metallic iridescent waters.

Relax at the "Alemanes" beach or the most beautiful Turtle Beach and take a swim. Remember to book your boat day trip as soon as you arrive on the island as the departure is early in the morning and places can be limited.

Day 10

Puerto Ayora - Bartolome - Puerto Ayora  

Visit the Lovely island of Bartolome

Today you will take a fast private boat to visit diverse places on the island of Bartolome, neighbor of the island of Santa Cruz.

During this excursion on Bartolome you will visit the symbolic places of the island such as the Pinnacle Rock, go hiking, snorkeling and of course observe flora and fauna. 

After the last excursion, you will return to Santa Cruz in the afternoon.

Day 11

Puerto Ayora - Baltra - Quito  

Go to Astounding Quito City

Your Spanish-speaking driver will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to Baltra airport, where you will take a flight of about 2 hours to Quito. You will be welcomed upon arrival and driven to your hotel.

You have the rest of the day to explore the big city. Visit the handcrafts market in La Mariscal for shopping. Learn more in the Alabado arqueological museum in the Historic Center, the Modern Arts Guayasamin museum in the Bellavista area, the Mindalae handcrafts museum in La Mariscal or the Weilbauer arqueological museum in the Catholic University.

Take a stroll through the botanic garden in La Carolina Park with its magnificent collection or orchid, and take in this unique atmosphere while you taste something of the local cuisine.

Farewell, Ecuador!
