Bienvenidos en Lima!
Upon the arrival of your international flight at Jorge Chavez airport in Lima, you will be welcomed by one of our English speaking representatives, given all necessary travel documents and driven in a private transfer to your hotel.
Your hotel is located in the beautiful neighborhood of Miraflores from where it is just a short walk to the shore of the Pacific Ocean. Depending on the time of your arrival you have the afternoon or evening to explore Lima and get the first impression of Peruvian life in the capital.
Magnificant Pre-Colombian Art
Today you will explore the colonial quarters of Lima's city center including the Plaza San Martin and the Plaza de Armas. Start your day with a visit to the Cathedral, the San Francisco Convent and its catacombs.
Next, you will head to the Larco Herrera Museum, one of the largest private collections of pre-Columbian art in Peru. The exhibition rooms showcase splendid and well-preserved artifacts such as pottery, textiles, gold pieces and even mummies. You will have lunch in the museum's restaurant.
In the afternoon you will stroll through the neighborhoods of San Isidro and Miraflores including the Huaca Pucllana in the ocean-front with gardens that overlook the Pacific and the Larco Mar center.
Before heading back to your hotel for the night, you will walk through the artistic neighborhood of Barranco and observe its charming architecture.
All The Wonders Of Sacred Valley
You will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight to Cusco. There you will be greeted and taken by private vehicle for a day tour of the Sacred Valley. The first stop will be at the colonial village of Chinchero to visit the colonial church and the Inca ruins and then on to Moray, famous for its terraces that served as an agricultural laboratory to the Incas.
Today's lunch at the restaurant Mil Centro is a unique 8-course tasting experience in an exceptional setting overlooking the Moray site. Run by the famous Peruvian chef, Virgilio Martinez, this menu is an invitation to travel through the different Peruvian ecosystems.
To end our day we will reach the village of Maras and discover the impressive salt flats perched in the middle of the Andean mountains! If you still have some energy left, we suggest you take a quick hike down to the valley. From there you will be driven to your hotel.
Visiting The Breathtaking Aguas Calientes
You have the morning to rest, sleep in or read up on your trip.
You will visit the Incan fortress at Ollantaytambo, named after the Inca warrior, Ollanta. This was the site of many fierce battles between the Inca and the Spanish.
Then you will get on the train to Aguas Calientes (First class) which offers you a fantastic panoramic drive through the Andes. As the train only allows 8kg of luggage per person, you will leave your bag at the hotel.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will check-in at the Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel, where you will enjoy a great dinner. If time allows it you can participate in the activities on offer at the hotel.
Exploring The Majestic Machu Picchu Citadel
Get up early to hop on the shuttle but that will take you up to Machu Picchu Citadel.
Machu Picchu is an ancient Inca city dating back to the 15th century. Abandoned during the collapse of the Incan empire, the sacred city of the Incas was forgotten for centuries. It is considered a masterpiece of architecture of this civilization and was finally unveiled by the US-American archaeologist Hiram Bingham in 1911. In 1983, Machu Picchu was declared UNESCO World Heritage.
Today you will explore this important site on a guided tour (about 2:30 hours) and you have the option to hike up to either Huayna Picchu or Montaña Machu Picchu to get a better view on the citadel.
Once you have taken in everything you will take the First-class train to Ollantaytambo back again and a driver will be waiting for you at Ollantaytambo's train station to transfer you to your hotel in Cusco.
Take A Scenic Cusco Walk
After breakfast, you will leave your hotel for a full-day excursion through Cuzco and its surrounding areas.
Visit the archaeological sites overlooking the city: Tambomachay, Q’enko, Pukapucara, and Sacsayhuaman. You then walk down to the San Blas district, known as the artists’ district. We pass by the famous 12 angels stone and continue to the San Pedro market to get to know local products. In the afternoon, visit the Koricancha (Temple of the Sun) and the Cathedral where some paintings from the Cuzco School are displayed as well as many gold and silversmith pieces, as well as precious stone treasures, can be seen.
At the end of the afternoon, you will return to the hotel to relax.
Quaint Cobble-Stoned Streets Of Cusco
You have the day to explore Cusco as you wish:
Spend the morning in the San Pedro market to discover the many varieties of exotic fruits, cusqueño bread, local cheeses, as well as Cusquenian florists and craftsmen of all kinds!
Head to the Plaza de Armas to visit the cathedral of Cusco, surely the most beautiful religious monument in the country.
If yesterday was not enough, we suggest you go back to the Qoricancha Temple. This Inca temple (the most precious of the time) was ravaged by the Spanish during the colonization and its foundations were later reused to build the church of Santo Domingo.
At the end of the day, you can go to the Sacsayhuaman archeological site that you will reach by walking through the typical district of San Blas. Or wander around the cobbled streets of the colonial center of Cusco, where the magic happens during sunset time.
Enjoy a relaxing day in this beautiful city!
Panoramic Train Ride To Lake Titicaca
Today you will travel onwards: A private transfer will take you to the train station where you will take a train to Puno. On the ride, you will enjoy a spectacular view of highlands of the Andes and discover wonderful landscapes from the open-air observatory car.
The train operates on Wednesday, Fridays and Sundays so we will plan your travel schedule accordingly. The train journey takes about 10 hours and makes no stops on the way. You are not accompanied by a guide but upon arrival in Puno, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel, a beautiful Relais & Chàteaux hotel situated on the western shores of Lake Titicaca close to the Chucuito Peninsula.
The Stunning Lake Titicaca
This day is devoted to the discovery of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. You can choose your activity between:
- Exploring the Uros islands and Taquile,
- Visiting the local neighboring communities of Socca or Perka,
- Visiting the archaeological sites of Sillustani, Inka Anatawi, Juli and Pomata or

Romantic Trip Back To Lima
In the morning you will depart from Lake Titicaca and you will be taken to the airport of Juliaca, where you will catch a domestic flight to Lima.
At the airport, a driver will be waiting for you and take you to your hotel. You have the rest of the day to spend as you wish in Lima and to enjoy a good Peruvian dinner.
Depending on the time of your departure you have the day to enjoy Lima. Three hours before take-off, you will be transferred to Jorge Chavez airport in Lima where you will either continue your travels on your own or take an international return flight.
We hope you enjoyed this trip to Peru and will come back soon!
