Explore Charming Arequipa
Wake up in the morning and hop in your private car, which will take you to the airport for your onward flight to Arequipa, a World Heritage Site since 2002. Known as “The White City” because of the many houses constructed of white volcanic stone, the city has a colonial heritage and well-preserved architecture. Arrive at your hotel in the afternoon. Drop your bags and head out for your guided walking tour through downtown and the main square. Stop at the 17th-century baroque-style cathedral and admire its imposing towers. Meander through the main square, which represents the social center of the city. Only a few blocks away lies the convent of Santa Catalina, consisting of a maze of cloisters and rooms and home to over thirty nuns. In the evening, return to your hotel for your overnight stay.
Journey through the Andes
Get up early and travel to the village of Chivay. On the way, enjoy beautiful views of the Andes Mountains, including Misti, Chachani, and Pichupichu volcanos. Head to Pampa Cañahuas, a natural reserve created to protect wild vicuña. Your next stop is Pata Wasi, an Andean community where you can try tea made from coca leaves at a local restaurant to help prevent altitude sickness. Continue your journey through the Tocra area as you pass by bird-filled lagoons to a plateau where llamas and wild guanacos can be seen grazing in the distance. Upon arrival in Chivay, gaze down on the multicolored landscape of the Colca Valley. If you choose, you can use the afternoon to take a refreshing dip in the natural pools of La Calera hot springs. Use the evening to relax in your hotel.
Experience the Stunning Colca Canyon
Enjoy your breakfast early so you can head out on an excursion you will never forget. At “Mirador de la Cruz del Condor”, look down into the Colca Canyon - which descends twice as deep as North American Grand Canyon! Look up to the sky and see the condors, sacred to the Inca people, soar over the canyon. Take a short hike around part of the canyon rim. On your return journey to Chivay, stop in the towns of Maca and Yanque, which are said to b the most beautiful churches in the valley. The afternoon is free to spend as you wish. Upon request, you can join in activities such as hiking, horseback riding, and biking. Enjoy the evening at your hotel or exploring the town.
A Day With the Locals
Enjoy an early breakfast in your hotel. Today, take the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience and get to know the people of Peru. Meet a villager, who will take you to his home to talk about the day’s activities. Depending on the season, assist herding animals, preparing the sowing or the harvest, or other activities necessary for the daily operation of a local farm. Afterwards, you will be accompanied back to your hotel. In the afternoon, depart for Puno City on the gorgeous Lake Titicaca. Spend the night in Puno City.
See the Floating Islands of Lake Titicaca
Early in the morning, your motor boat will be ready to take you on an adventure on Lake Titicaca. Travel to Uros, a community that inhabits floating islands. Using the ancient traditions of their ancestors, the Uros shape the totora reeds to create large floating islands that carry their homes, schools, and all other community buildings - a truly impressive sight! Move on the to the island of Taquile, where you will enjoy your lunch. In the afternoon, head towards the Chucuito peninsula in Luquina Chico. Tonight, your accommodation may be simple, but it is by no means less extraordinary. Stay with a local family in a room with a beautiful view of the lake. After dinner, stroll along the shores of Lake Titicaca and watch the sun go down as the locals do.

Get up Close to Peruvian Culture
Start your day off with a wonderful breakfast. Today, soak up some of Peru’s culture straight from the hands of the locals. Spend your day with the Aymara people, and see what there is to learn - the day is up to you! Use the day to fish, learn to knit, chop firewood or cook. If you want to get some exercise, join in a football match or go on one of the many spectacular hikes in the area. As an optional activity, you can also go kayaking on the lake. Return to Puno in the early afternoon. The rest of the day is yours to use as you wish.
Take the Bus to Cusco
Wake up early to catch your bus to the mystical city of Cusco. Enjoy a hearty breakfast on the bus, as you roll out of town and hit the road. The first stop on the way is the city of Pukara, where a guided trip of the museum awaits you. Back on the bus, you move on over the La Raya pass, with 4,335 meters above sea level the highest pass you will cross on the trip. Make another stop at the archaeological complex of Raqchi and Andahuaylillas temple, before entering Cusco. The ancient capital of the Inca empire was declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1983 and is worth exploring. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel, where you can relax from the long ride.
Explore the Ancient Inca Capital of Cusco
In the morning, your guide will take you to Sacsayhuaman, an imposing Inca building that dominates Cusco from the north. You also visit the archeological sites of Puca Pucara, Tambomachay, and Q'enko, which will deepen your understanding of the rich history of the Inca and the immense astronomical knowledge that they possessed.
In the afternoon, take a walking tour through Cusco and discover the architectural marvel that makes the city world-famous. Explore the hidden alleys with beautiful stone walls enclosing them, discover the colonial churches among ancient Inca architecture. Stop at the Aqllaywasi, an ancient temple of the chosen virgins of the Sun God and today home of the convent of Santa Catalina. End the tour with a visit to the artsy San Blas quarter.
Experience the Ancient Inca Traditions
Head out in the morning towards the Sacred Valley. See quinoa and potato fields on the way and learn about the incredible agricultural technology of the Inca. Arrive at the community of Patabamba, where the locals greet you with flowers and you are invited to dress in traditional Inca clothes. Head out with the women of the village to collect plants, leaves, and flower, which are used in a traditional weaving technique. Help in preparing the Pachamanca, a meal prepared in the ancient way of cooking with hot stones underground. Participate in a thanksgiving ceremony for Apus, the guardians of all things. When the food is ready, enjoy a fantastic lunch with a premium view over the Sacred Valley. After this magical experience, head to your hotel, where you can relax for the remainder of the day.
Take a Train Ride through the Valley
In the morning, visit Ollantaytambo, a small town, whose fortress and citadel were built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley. Take a walk through the picturesque streets of this beautiful town and get an idea how this important center of the Inca culture must have looked like a few hundred years ago.
Around noon, head for the train station, where you board the train to Aguas Calientes. Enjoy the ride through the Valley past beautiful mountain scenery. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, your guide will meet you at the station and transfer you to your hotel.
See Glorious Machu Picchu
Today is the day you have been waiting for. Early in the morning, board the bus to ascend the mountain along a steep zigzag route, before the mountainsides suddenly open up and you stand before one of the most magnificent places in the world, Machu Picchu. Take a guided tour and visit the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sundial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the cemeteries. After the tour, you will have time to explore the ruins on your own. Get a feel for this magical place, that will leave you breathless and in awe of the abilities of the Incas. In the afternoon, return to the train station and take the train back to Cusco. Your guide awaits you at the station to transfer you to your hotel.
Return to Lima
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel, before being transferred to the airport, where you will board your flight back to Lima. In Lima, you will be taken to your hotel. You can either choose to relax for the day or visit the historic downtown of Lima and spend the afternoon exploring the bustling center of the Peruvian capital. Maybe you will find a souvenir to bring back home or find the time to send a few postcards?

It's time to say goodbye to Peru. You have spent two weeks seeing the most magnificent places in this country and getting to know Peru's most wonderful asset: its people. In the morning, your guide will take you to the airport, where you board your flight back home. Have a safe trip!
