An 8-day trip is just right for families and groups of friends to get a feel for the extraordinary country that is Jordan. On this trip, you will fly in and out of Amman, Jordan's capital city. But this is not an urban holiday. Rather, you and your companions will experience Jordan's magnificent nature by hiking through stunning desert terrain and breathtaking natural gorges. You will gain an appreciation of the beautiful pink hues found in the mountainsides as well as the legendary city of Petra, which you will visit on this tour. Later, set up camp at some of Jordan's most spectacular outdoor sights. This will be a trip you and your family will never forget.

Welcome to Jordan!
Today, you will land at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, the capital of Jordan. Disembark, make your way to the immigration area, and meet your guide, who will have a sign with your name on it.
Your guide will assist you as you go through the immigration procedures, and guide you to your waiting vehicle. Relax en route to your hotel.
Hike the Prophet's Trail
Today head north to Ajloun, where you will hike the Prophet's Trail. The 3km hike is self-guided and should take about 2 hours. Those who wish to can hire a local guide.
Make your way through the peaceful terrain as you follow the Prophet's Trail. You will venture through oak forests and strawberry tree groves as well as fig and pear orchards. Notice the stone walls that protect the crops of local farms from precipitation and wild boar. Upon reaching the top of the hill, you can explore the ruins and rest as you take in the panoramic views of the region.
Later, visit Ajloun Castle, which was built by Izz al-Din Usama in the 12th century.
Explore the Sandstone Walls of Wadi Numeira
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel today before setting off for the Karak area of Jordan. Here, you will be amazed by the extraordinary walls of striped orange sandstone that rise on both sides of Wadi Numeira.
Embark on a hike through this stunning landscape and marvel at the way in which nature has taken a mysterious course over millions of years to create this spectacular natural wonder.
Tonight, you will sleep at a camp in Dana.
Wander through the Magnificent Dana Biosphere Reserve
Today, after breakfast at your camp, you will have the opportunity to take a self-guided hike, or hire a local guide to lead you through the Dana Biosphere Reserve. Take a few hours to explore the dazzling landscapes of this mighty terrain. From wooded highlands to rocky slopes, sand dunes, and stone deserts, this vast reserve is home to a diverse array of natural settings.
After a day in nature, make your way to your hotel in Petra.
Visit the Rose-Red City of Petra
Enjoy an early breakfast at your hotel today before setting out for Little Petra. You will hike from Little Petra to Petra, entering this legendary city via the "Monastery Walk." Take in the beauty of this ancient rose-red city. Sometimes referred to as the "Lost City," Petra is an ancient place, which is thought to have been settled over 10,000 years ago. Once an important trading destination during the height of the Nabataean Kingdom, Petra eventually declined in importance over time and was only rediscovered by a Swiss traveler in 1812.
Tonight, you will journey to Wadi Musa for dinner and overnight.
Encounter the Majesty of Wadi Rum
Venture to the breathtaking Wadi Rum Valley today. Stretching across 720 sq km, Wadi Rum is a magnificent desert wilderness. Here, granite and sandstone mountains rise dramatically from the red earth. Within this extraordinary landscape, Bedouin tribes continue to set up their distinctive tents made of goat skins.
Your adventure today will include a hike in Raqaba Canyon and a guided tour via 4x4 jeep.
At the end of the day, dinner awaits at your campsite in Wadi Rum.
See the Souks of Amman
Enjoy breakfast under the open sky at your campsite. Later, you will be picked up and driven to Amman, where you can spend some time visiting the colorful souks of Jordan's capital city. This is the perfect place to pick up some souvenirs from your trip as well as authentic gifts for loved ones back home. Tonight's farewell dinner will be celebrated at a traditional local restaurant.
