Welcome to Jordan!
Your adventure in Jordan begins today when your plane lands at Queen Alia International Airport. Upon arrival, you will be met by a tour representative who will assist you through the visa process and transfer you to your hotel in Amman. Check in and rest in the comfort of your room. Tonight you will enjoy dinner and overnight in Amman.
Delve into an Ancient Middle Eastern Culture
A cultural journey into Jordan's history is on the itinerary for today. Begin with a drive to Madaba, home of the 6th century St. George Church, where you will encounter an extraordinary map of the Holy Land.
Continue to the Sanctuary at Mount Nebo, where you can pay your respects to the Prophet Moses at the site which memorializes his burial place. The site is marked by a 4th century church.
The adventure continues to the mesmerizing city of Kerak. Crowned by an ancient castle, this fortified town features a maze of underground passageways that lead to the heart of the walled city, the former capital of Moab.
Arrive in Dana in the late afternoon and check in to your hotel.
Hike Through the Dana Nature Reserve
After breakfast, join your local guide who will lead you on a 2 to 3-hour hike through the Dana Nature Reserve. This vast nature reserve is home to a diverse array of settings. From wooded highlands to rocky slopes, sand dunes, and stone deserts, you can explore all the dazzling landscapes of this powerful terrain.
Next, visit Shobak Castle, a historic site surrounded by ten villages. Perched on the side of a mountain, this picturesque castle was built during the Crusades, nearly nine centuries ago.
Ride a Horse into the Ancient City of Petra
The world-famous "Red-Rose" city of Petra, one of the most magnificent and mysterious cities on earth, is on your agenda for today. Begin your journey on horseback as you venture through the narrow gorge leading to that most iconic of sandstone facades, Al Khazna, otherwise known as the Treasury of Petra. Continue your exploration of this city built by Arab Nabateans as you venture along pink-hued streets past royal tombs, temples, churches, museums, and the Monastery.
Wander Ancient Pink Streets at Your Own Pace
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel this morning. Later, spend some time exploring Petra on your own.
Sometimes referred to as the "Lost City," Petra is an ancient place, which is thought to have been settled over 10,000 years ago. Once an important trading destination during the height of the Nabataean Kingdom, Petra eventually declined in importance over time and was rediscovered by a Swiss traveler in 1812.
Embark on a Bedouin Adventure
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before setting out for Wadi Rum. Upon arrival, you will meet your Bedouin guides, who will lead you into their awe-inspiring landscape. The Bedouin adventure in Wadi Rum begins with a two-hour hike. You will stop to enjoy a picnic surrounded by the spectacular desert and mountain terrain near Burda. Then continue your walk for another three hours, past fantastical rock formations, canyons, and sand dunes.
This evening, you will experience a night in the magnificent Wadi Rum desert at a temporary camp at Um Frouth.
Trek Across the Pink Sand Dunes of Wadi Rum
Wake up this morning, surrounded by one of earth's most magnificent landscapes. Enjoy breakfast at the camp, then set out on another trek across stunning pink sand dunes with your Bedouin guides.
You will see natural landmarks such as Um Frouth, Um Ngour, and the Siq Nugra. Stop for a picnic and rest your legs for a while as you take in the remarkable panorama.
At the days end, your guides will set up another temporary camp at Um Sabatah. Enjoy dinner and overnight in your camp.
Succumb to the Splendor of Mother Nature
This is your third full day in the magnificent Wadi Rum desert. You may feel yourself becoming more in-tune with nature. The stresses of the real world are thousands of miles away. Here, it is only you, your fellow travelers, your expert guides, and the breathtaking natural beauty of this remarkable destination.
Continue your hike to your next overnight camp spot, stopping en route for a picnic. Tonight you will sleep at a temporary camp near the Lawrence of Arabia House.
Wade into the Healing Waters of the Dead Sea
Today, after breakfast at your Wadi Rum camp, your adventure continues with a visit to the Dead Sea. Situated 398 meters (1,206 feet) below sea level, this is the lowest spot on earth. It is the perfect place to ease your sore muscles after three days of hiking in the desert. Soak in these healing waters, float on the sea's buoyant surface, and be enriched by this warm, fertile region.
You will understand why this therapeutic water has drawn inhabitants to this region for millennia.
Tonight you will arrive in Amman for dinner and overnight.
What a sensational journey this has been. Today you will say goodbye to Jordan as you make your way to Queen Alia International Airport to catch your onward flight. We hope you have had an unforgettable holiday in Jordan, and wish you pleasant travels.
