After this inspiring tour, head back to Amman and stop at Iraq Al Amir, which means "Caves of the Prince." At this village just outside the capital city, you will encounter an ancient castle.
Transfer back to Amman hotel for an overnight stay.
Visit the Ancient Cities of Umm Qais and Jerash
Another full-day of sightseeing is on the agenda this morning. Start with an excursion to Umm Qais in Jordan's northeast corner. Here you will be met with breathtaking views of Golan Heights and Tiberias Lake -- the site where the Biblical "miracle of swine" took place.
Continue to Jerash, a wonderfully preserved Roman city known as the "city of 1,000 pillars." Unearthed 70 years ago, this treasure of ancient civilization has been painstakingly restored and serves as a magnificent reminder of the sophistication found throughout the ancient lands of the Middle East.
Later, enjoy on a hike through the Ajloun Nature Reserve before returning to your hotel in Amman.
Explore Ancient Crusader Strongholds
The adventure continues today to the mesmerizing city of Kerak. Crowned by an ancient crusader castle, this fortified town features a maze of underground passageways that lead to the heart of the walled city, the former capital of Moab.
Next, visit Shobak Castle, a historic site surrounded by ten villages. Perched on the side of a mountain, this picturesque castle was built nearly 9 centuries ago during the time of the Crusades.
You will also visit Mamlouk Castle and Little Petra today before checking into your hotel in Petra where you will enjoy dinner and stay overnight.
Visit Petra and Camp in the Wadi Rum Desert
The world-famous "Rose-Red" city of Petra, one of the most magnificent and mysterious cities on earth, is on your agenda for today. Consider hiring a horse to lead you through the narrow gorge that leads to the entrance, otherwise, proceed on foot past the rose-red rock walls. Soon you will see that most iconic of sandstone facades, Al Khazna, otherwise known as the Treasury of Petra. Continue your exploration of this city built by Arab Nabateans as you venture along pink-hued streets past royal tombs, temples, churches, museums, and the Monastery.
Later, you will continue to Wadi Rum, a spectacular desert landscape. Spend the night here at a Bedouin camp and enjoy dinner under the stars.
Enjoy a Full Day in the Desert
Wake up this morning surrounded by one of earth's most magnificent landscapes. Enjoy breakfast at the camp, then set out on a jeep adventure across stunning pink sand dunes.
During the 4 to 5 hour excursion, you will see dazzling landmarks including the rocky hill known as the "Seven Pillars of Wisdom," Nabatean temple ruins, breathtaking canyons and rock formations, and the castle built for the 1962 film "Lawrence of Arabia."
Return to the camp for a buffet lunch and rest. Later, you can ride a camel through the desert with a Bedouin guide.
Tonight you will witness a Bedouin technique of cooking under hot sands. Stay overnight at camp.
Continue Your Adventure to the Dead Sea
Today, after breakfast at camp, you will be picked up and transferred to the coastal city of Aqaba. Visit the Aqaba Castle before continuing on to the Dead Sea where you can check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing.
Situated 398 meters (1,206 feet) below sea level, this is the lowest spot on earth. It is the perfect place to ease your muscles after your adventure in the desert. Soak in these healing waters, float on the sea's buoyant surface, and be enriched by this warm, fertile region.
Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the Dead Sea hotel.
So Long, Jordan!
Bid farewell to the gorgeous waters of the Dead Sea this morning. If time allows, take one last healing soak. At the appropriate time, you will be transferred to Queen Alia International Airport, in Amman. It is recommended to arrive three hours before your scheduled flight. We wish you pleasant travels!
