Let’s begin your discovery of Japan! Your guide will be waiting when you arrive at the Narita International Airport. Board the limousine bus to your hotel in the city. After checking-in you have the day at leisure. If you would like to rest, you can do so or step out to get your first glimpse of Japanese life on this tour by exploring your neighborhood. Take a walk along the streets or drop in at the various shops around the area.
Go Sightseeing in Tokyo
Wake up and get ready for a fun day in Tokyo. Meet your guide at the hotel and set out for a tour. Visit Asakusa, one of the oldest spots in the city. Walk along the streets full of old stores and history, buy souvenirs if you wish to, and then visit the temple. Continue to the Shinjuku Tokyo Government building to see a panoramic view of Tokyo from a height of 202 meters. On a clear day, you can see Mt. Fuji as well. It’s picture perfect!
Your next stop is the Meiji shrine one of Japan's most well-known shrines. Enjoy a stroll through the park that leads to its entrance. See the impressive shrine grounds built in 1920 and rebuilt after the war. While your half day tour ends here, you can visit two of the most modern neighborhoods nearby: Shibuya and Harajuku! Experience the colorful culture of Harajuku or be mesmerized by Shibuya's famous crossing, said to be the most transited one in the world!
Visit Fish Markets, Trendy Shops & Anime Hubs
Today, you will discover some of the other captivating sights of Tokyo. Explore the Tsukiji Fish Market bustling with people. Take a stroll through the outer market stocked with fresh fish of all kinds, and drop by the stalls in the area. Next up is Ginza, Tokyo's popular shopping district. Take a look at the many boutique stores and enjoy the atmosphere of this upscale district.
Afterwards, you will gain an interesting insight into Tokyo’s otaku and electronic district at Akihabara. Here, we can see youngsters having fun at karaoke places and maid cafes, and see all the stores with their seasonal anime, something you will find only in Japan! At the end of your tour, ask your guide to give you suggestions and directions if you wish to visit other places. You can go to the nearby Ueno Park with its zoo, wonderful scenery, and multiple museums to enjoy your last day in the capital.
Enjoy an Excursion to Mount Fuji
Mount Fuji, here we come! We will pick you up at the hotel for a private transfer to this stunning mountain that has become a symbol of Japan. After you arrive, your first stop will be at Fuji's 5th station located at the base and starting point of the hiking trail. It has the best scenic spots for people who do not want to climb the mount. Take in the beautiful vistas of Mount Fuji and the surroundings. Afterwards, board the private transfer to get down the trail.
We will then proceed to the picturesque Kawaguchi Lake where you will enjoy a short cruise to admire the beauty of Mount Fuji. Your final stop for the day will be Oshino Hakkai village known for its ponds that contain water coming from Mount Fuji. Enjoy your time here before heading back to your hotel.
See the Stunning Sights at Historical Kanazawa
Embark on the next fascinating part of your tour where you will explore central Japan. Proceed to Tokyo station to take the train to Kanazawa station by yourself. On arrival, your guide will be waiting for you. Take a stroll around historical Kanazawa city that was left mostly untouched by WW II destruction. You will start at Kenrokuen, famous for being one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan. Enjoy a walk in the midst of nature at this gorgeous spot.
Afterwards, get a glimpse into Japan’s feudal past at Kanazawa Castle. Then, make your way to the traditional areas with historical tea houses where geishas used to serve tea to the samurai many years ago. Now, there are no samurais, but geishas still work there! Your final stop is the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art where you can admire the displays. Head to your Japanese inn for a traditional dinner and overnight stay.
Explore the UNESCO Site of Shirakawa-go
On your itinerary for today is a visit to a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your guide will pick you up at the inn for a private transfer to Shirakawa-go. Along the way, you can see views of the mountains and the idyllic scenery.
Upon arrival, set out to tour the site of Shirakawa-go, famous for its traditional farmhouses, and one of the few places where you can still see the structures. Explore this historical village appreciating the unique architecture of the farmhouses and experience life in rural Japan. After spending some time here, you will get into a private taxi and head to our next stop: Takayama. Check-in at the hotel, and use the evening to rest or enjoy a leisurely stroll in the neighborhood.
Discover the Wonderful Attractions at Takayama
Begin your day in Takayama by going on a guided tour of this city with an old-world charm situated amidst the mountains. Our first stop will be the Takayama Jinya–a former local government office which now serves as a museum. Admire the architecture of this traditional building made with timber, which is quite unusual. Next, we will head to Yoshijima Heritage House, once a sake brewery and now an important Japanese cultural treasure. Finally, visit Takayama's Old Town that has many buildings and houses dating back to the 1600s. Step back in time as you explore the area to look at some old houses and see how people lived in the bygone days.
At the end of your tour, you can return to your hotel or spend time discovering more of Takayama.
Tour the Castle & Automobile Museum at Nagoya
Board a train from Takayama station by yourself to your next destination–Nagoya. Sit back and enjoy the lovely views during the ride. After checking-in at the hotel, get ready to explore this large, modern city. We will begin our tour with a stop at the well-known Nagoya Castle. Explore the castle interiors that have been remodeled as a mini interactive museum. It’s a fun experience during which you can also see a statue of the shachihoko mythological creature with the head of a tiger and the body of a carp, which protects castles nationwide.
Since Nagoya is the region where many cars are manufactured, it is a great place for automobile lovers. Head to the Toyota Automobile Museum and see some nicely preserved vintage displays. Your last stop is Osu Kannon, one of the city's most significant temples. Later, walk around the nearby shopping area and enjoy street food!
