Upon arrival in Bali, your driver will welcome you at Denpasar airport to assist you with your luggage before driving you to your hotel in Ubud where you can relax and freshen up after your flight. Whether you're adjusting to the time zone or climate, know that the first night like the rest of your trip, can be spent in comfort.
Get to Know a Local Family
Today you will have the unique opportunity of spending the day will a local family in a small village. Join your hosts on an outing to a local market where you will encounter a variety of exotic products. Then, stop for a visit at a local school before continuing on to their family home. During your visit, you may join the family in spiritual rituals or help prepare a Balinese lunch. Later, you can walk through the village to meet the local inhabitants before driving into the countryside to a small temple. Here you will participate in a blessing ceremony before continuing to the rice fields. Your hosts will explain the storied traditions of the rice fields before inviting you to try your hand at rice farming.
Explore the Hidden Paths of Bali in a Volkswagen Safari
This morning you will trade your ordinary vehicle for a Volkswagen Safari. These convertible vintage vehicles allow you to discover the unbeaten Balinese paths, the gateways to the hidden gems of the island.
Your first stop will be near Ubud where the landscape is composed of terraced rice fields, small roads, quaint rural villages and jaw-dropping waterfalls. It allows you to appreciate the lush landscapes that give Bali its charm. Stop at Tegalalang Crafts Street before beneath and alongside impressive rice paddies before continuing north to the towering Kintamani and Batur volcano caldera.
Discover the Unique Culture of Sidemen
This morning you will take a private transfer from Ubud to Sidemen. This gorgeous green region offers a myriad opportunities to enjoy nature while nurturinng your spirituality and well-being.
Located at the foot of Mount Agung, Sidemen features a breathtaking rural panorama and is a wonderful destination for exploring the beauty of the Balinese countryside.
First, head to Bangli and its Pura Kehen Temple, Bali’s highest terraced temple. The magnificent structure features splendid and intricate architectural details. Your next stop will be Penglipuran Village, a beautiful highland village in the regency of Bangli in East Bali, best known for its well-preserved culture and seemingly untouched village layout.
Trek Through Lush Vegetation and Peaceful Rice Fields
Start your day with a relaxed 3-hour walk through the rice fields of Sidemen, accompanied by an English-speaking guide. Later, your driver will bring you to the site of Pura Lempuyang, a grandoise temple complex. From here, the view of Mount Agung and the valley is awe-inspiring. The first temple is only a 5-minute walk from the parking lot. If you enjoy something a little more adventurous, you can reach the other temples by follow the Balinese on their pilgrimage that lasts between 1.5 to 2.5 hours. The gradients vary with at times easy terrain with steps preceding, at times, slippery terrain. If you are lucky you may even have the opportunity to attend ceremonies in a solemn setting.
Venture to the Island of Lombok
Today your adventure continues to the island of Lambok. To get there, your driver will pick you up at your hotel in Sidemen to transfer you to the port of Padangbai. Here, you will catch a boat to Lombok. A transfer from the harbor will drive to your hotel on Lombok's south coast in a village called Kuta (not to be confused with its Balinese namesake). This charming village overlooks a bay bound by white sand beaches. A well-known village for surfers and travelers, Kuta comes alive at night with its eclectic offering of bars and restaurants.
Swim Beneath a Grand Waterfall
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel this morning before embarking on an excursion to two of Lombok's beautiful waterfalls: the Benang Stokel and Benang Kelambu waterfals, which are both surrounded by lush green vegetation. Upon arrival, take some time to lap it all in before enjoying a refreshing dip in the cool, freshwater pools.
Later, you can visit Mandalika Market, the largest traditional market on the island. Here, vendors sell a variety of colorful items, from fruits and spices to local handicrafts and daily goods.
Enjoy Serenity on Lombok
Today is a free day without a vehicle or driver. Do as you please and take the time to relax on the beach by your hotel. Or maybe go for a swim, enjoy a tranquil walk along the white sand shoreline, or enjoy some shopping in the village, the choice is yours! Travelers looking for adventure offshore may wish to rent snorkeling equipment to discover the opulent seas off the coast of Lombok teeming with marine life every colou of the rainbow.
Sail to Paradise at Gili Asahan
This morning you will be transfered from Kuta (Lombok) to Kores Beach where you will board a boat for the short ride to Gili Asahan.
A secluded dream-like island in southwest Lombok, Gili Asahan is only accessible by small, private boats. With white sandy beaches and turquoise waters, it is the perfect place for a few days of relaxation.
Upon arrival, spend the afternoon at your leisure. Discover the colorful underwater world with a mask and snorkel or take a kayak to explore the calm waters from above. Don't miss the chance to explore your surroundings and enjoy the tranquility of this hidden gem.
Encounter an Underwater Wonderland
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel this morning then get ready to embark on a snorkeling cruise around the island. Today you will have the opportunity to encounter the diverse array and seeminlgy untouched marine life that the Indonesian archipelago has on offer.
Explore the stunning underwater coves of Gili Asahan and discover the corals of every colour and textures and swim with fish of all shapes and sizes that call the reef home. If you are lucky you might even spot a majestic sea turtle or two!
Head to the Seaside Resort Town of Sanur
Your last full day in Bali will be back on the main island in the town of Sanur. This beautiful beachside town is popular with those looking to swim and sun bathe, as the ocean here is usually calm and protected from waves. This popular seaside resort is rich in history and has retained much of the relaxed atmosphere of its earlier days. The cobblestone paths that run along the many small beaches are perfect for a sunrise jog or an evening walk as the sun sets over the horizon.
To get there, you will take a taxi boat from Gili Asahan to Gili Gede. From Gili Gede, a faster boat will bring you to Serangan Harbor before your driver transfers you to Sanur.
