Upon your arrival in Athens, a driver will be waiting for you right outside the airport arrivals hall, holding a sign with your name, to transfer you to your hotel. When you get the your hotel, a tour representative will welcome you and brief you on the itinerary for the exciting days ahead. Check in, freshen up and relax after your journey, and enjoy some free time in the legendary Greek capital.
Tour the Iconic Sights of This Ancient City
Head out on a group tour this morning to see the iconic sights of ancient Athens. You will get an interesting impression of the contrast between the "old" and the "new" Athens as you marvel at the magnificent ruins of the past, as well as explore the modern architecture of the city.
The tour includes visits to the Acropolis and the Parthenon, where you will see the Propylea, the Erechtheion, and the Temple of Athena Nike with its Porch of the Maidens.
Other stops we will make on this comprehensive Athens tour include the Roman Temple of Olympic Zeus, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, near the Parliament House in Syntagma Square, and Panathinaiko Stadium (Kallimarmaro), where the first Olympic games were held in 1896.
Answer the Call of the Greek Islands
Today you will set off for one of the most famous of the Greek Islands -- Mykonos! A driver will greet you at your hotel and transfer you to Piraeus Port to catch an early morning ferry (7am).
Cruise across the Aegean Sea on a high-speed ferry from Piraeus to Mykonos. The trip should take approximately 2.5 hours.
Upon arrival at the port of Mykonos, you will be driven to your hotel. Your driver will greet you as you disembark from the boat. Spend your first day in Mykonos at your leisure.
Sail to Nearby Islands, Rhenia and Delos
This morning, board a graceful yacht anchored in Agios Ioannis Bay, and set off for the small Cycladic islands that lie a few miles southwest of Mykonos -- Rhenia and Delos.
As we cruise across the glistening sea, get an introduction to the sport of sailing, or simply relax and enjoy the scenery. After approximately 1 hour, we will arrive in Rhenia, separated from the sacred island of Delos by a small strait.
We'll drop anchor in the idyllic bay, where you can swim and snorkel in crystal clear waters, then enjoy a light lunch on board.
Our next stop is Delos, mythological birthplace of Apollo and Artemis, and home to one of Ancient Greece's most important archaeological sites. Our professional English-speaking guide will give us a fascinating overview of this legendary island, then we will have some free time to explore the terrain on our own accord, or set off for another beautiful beach.
Set off for Santorini
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then check out and prepare for the trip to Santorini. Your driver will meet you in the lobby of your hotel and transfer you to the port where you will catch the high-speed ferry to Santorini.
After approximately 2.5 hours, you will witness the magnificent island of Santorini come into view, with its romantic whitewashed villages perched high atop the cliffs overlooking the dazzling caldera.
As you disembark the ferry, your driver will be waiting for you right outside the vessel to transfer you to your hotel. Check in and enjoy the day at your leisure.
Explore Land and Sea on a Full-Day Tour
Get an overview of Santorini today with a full-day island tour that includes both bus and boat travel.
First, you'll take the bus to the island's highest point, where you'll encounter the 16th century Monastery of the Prophet Elias. Next, you will venture to the village of Pyrgos, to explore its typical Cycladic architecture, Byzantine churches, and Venetian Castle.
You'll then board a boat at Athinios Port to sail to two volcanic islands -- Nea Kameni and Palea Kameni, followed by some time enjoying the green sulphur waters of the hot springs.
Your next destination is the island of Thirasia, where you can enjoy the beach and have lunch by the sea. You'll end the day back on the main island of Santorini, where you will witness the island's famous sunset from a romantic spot in Oia village.
Learn Cycladic Culinary Traditions
Learn about the local products and wines of Santorini at a cooking class today. Aroma Avlis Food & Wine Restaurant aims to to promote local farmers and producers with a cuisine paired with wines from their winery. "Aroma Avlis" means "our garden's scent," and the majority of products used in their dishes are grown right in their own restaurant garden.
The cooking lesson takes place at the Artemis Karamolegos Winery, which features a tranquil, traditional setting, surrounded by vines, barrels, and the scent of the winery.
As you prepare a full Santorini-style meal, you can enjoy a glass of Asyrtiko Terra Nera 2016 white wine. Later, you will enjoy your feast with a bottle of excellent wine from the vineyard.
