Welcome to Lapland!
Welcome to the frozen north, full of surreal winter landscapes in one of the most beautiful countries on Earth. Whether you’re a keen winter sports enthusiast, ardent hiker, or simply a nature lover, Finland is a spectacular destination.
Once you check in to your hotel, you'll be taken by a guide on a Northern Lights hunt. You'll drive the snowmobile to a remote area where there is no light pollution of the city and watch the sky come alive with colors.
Enjoy the exciting ride across the snowy forest, and explore the untouched nature of Lapland. Celebrate a successful Northern Lights mission by tasting reindeer meat, Lappish sausages, and steaming blueberry tea as you relax to the sound of the warm, crackling fire.
Meet the Lappish Animals
Take a ride with a team of sleigh dogs on a sparkling snowy trek through the spectacular Finnish forest trails. After receiving a short introduction, the dogs are ready to take you on an exciting 10 km ride through the winter wonderland. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the dreamy fairytale-like scenery.
After the journey, warm yourself up with some hot juice and Finnish gingerbread biscuits, the local’s favorite winter snacks, as you listen to interesting stories of huskies.
In the evening, set off into the Lappish forest to explore snowy trails and discover the exquisite nature of the Arctic. Reindeer will take you on a peaceful sleigh ride through the woods.
End your evening under a skydome with millions of stars above your head and keep a lookout for the Northern Lights.
Enjoy a Day in Nature
Have you ever tried ice fishing, snowshoeing, or barbecuing on a frozen lake? Today you'll try all three!
Hike through the Arctic forest to reach your destination for fishing. If the snow is deep enough, strap on your snowshoes and experience walking - Arctic-style.
Arriving at the lake, you will drill through thick ice with the support of your professional guide. Ice fishing is the best choice for people seeking an authentic local experience. Wait for the fish by having a barbecue in the snow, tasting the Lappish pork sausages and salmon.
To finish the day in style, relax and enjoy the heated wooden sauna and hot tub. If you're feeling brave, cool down in the Finnish style by dipping into the icy lake or rolling in the snow.
Catch, Cook, and Eat King Crab
An unforgettable experience awaits you on the frozen fjords of Kirkenes. This is your chance to catch, cook, and most importantly, eat this mysterious creature.
The Arctic King Crab is one of the most sought after meals in top restaurants and yet here, you get to eat the highest quality crabs, pulled from the fjord in front of your eyes. Although the presentation is simple, the juicy sweet leg and claw meat makes this meal something truly superb.
Next, you'll venture to the northernmost point, North Cape (Nordkapp.) You'll confront the icy blue sea and treeless mountain slopes that make this a monumental natural experience. Standing on the highest cliff, you'll be at Europe's northernmost point.
Explore the Sami Area
On your last day, you'll go on an adventure to Saariselkä, one of the best places in Lapland for panoramic views. You'll witness the peak of Kaunispää Fell, over 400 meters above sea level sitting right on the boundary of Urho Kekkonen National Park.
You'll drive to the peak by car and be rewarded with spectacular views of Urho Kekkonen National Park, Sompio Strict Nature Reserve, and Hammastunturi Wilderness Area stretching out below you. After the lunch on the top of Kaunispää, you will set off back to the Lapland capital of Rovaniemi.
