Havana

Welcome to La Habana

At your arrival, a representative will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your casa. During the ride, you can bask in the surroundings and colorful suburbs of Havana.

After a long flight, nothing feels better than to relax a little and feel the vibe of Havana. Stroll down the streets and get to know a city where you can walk for hours and discover all of its pretty places.

Alongside Havana Vieja, Centro Habana is worth a visit - it is the most colorful district, with a distinctly local touch.

In the evening, try some local cuisine: fried plantains or yucca, white rice, pork, black bean soup, and salad are the staples of a traditional Cuban meal that you will find almost everywhere. Cuba is renowned for its nightlife and salsa scene. If you have the energy, go for it!

Step into the everyday lives of local people and witness, how the city developed over time. It is both a place of grandiosity and a bustling urban community.

Havana - Playa Larga

Paradise Beach

A diverse paradise thanks to an amazing 30 km long reef 30 m offshore, and historically known as one of the two beaches being invaded by the Americans in 1961. The most tranquil beach, also known as ‘Bay of Pigs’, is best for diving and snorkeling.

In Caleta Buena and at the Cueva de los Peces you can snorkel in and around various caves and cenotes, home to extensive marine life.

From November to April,  you can spot large numbers of birds and waterfowl in the Laguna de las Salinas. Up to 10,000 flamingos reside here at the same time, together with 190 other species of our feathered friends.

Eco Trip to Caves and More

Today you will go on a day tour to Cienaga de Zapata, one of Cuba’s most diverse ecosystems. The bilingual guide (Spanish and English) will pick you up at the casa around 9:00 am.

First, go to the Cueva de los Peces or fish cave, Cuba’s deepest saltwater cave, at an average of 70 meters deep. It’s located about 300 meters away from the beach itself and is connected to the sea via tunnels, which makes it an exciting place for cave divers.

The next stop is at El Sendero del Enigma where you can see different species of animals and plants that are endemic to that zone. The guide will give you more details about the flora and fauna of this area.

The excursion ends at a natural swimming pool between big rocks and - due to the fascinating clarity of the water - you can observe the caves below you.

Playa Larga - Trinidad

Trinidad's Colonial Heritage

Today you will drive from Playa Larga to Trinidad. This city is one of the highlights of Cuba with a fantastic array and variety of excursions. Explore the fisherman's village of Casilda, which is located just 5 km from Trinidad. There are very good local restaurants, especially for seafood; a good recommendation is ”La Rosa”.

Explore the old cobblestone streets of Trinidad and be amazed by the history and beauty of this colonial city. Visit the museums in the historical center or explore the art galleries to get to know more about the vibe of the city, its people, history, and traditions.

From Plaza Mayor, take Amargura street until Las Tres Cruces. It is very interesting just to walk around and watch the locals passing by during their daily activities.

A Glimpse into Trinidad's Lifestyle

Today you will visit the suburbs of Trinidad in a real Cuban bici-taxi, a more intimate way to get to know the magic of Trinidad. Bici-taxis are typically adorned with colorful ribbons, vibrant paintings, and personal knickknacks.

With your personal guide, you will pass by local shops and places which sell fresh fruit, coffee, or sugar cane lemonade. Visit an elementary school and a tobacco and cigar factory - the economic backbone of the town.

Enjoy an afternoon to explore Trinidad's musical spirit, or enjoy a coffee or cocktail at the popular Café Don Pepe in the historical center. Hike up to Loma de la Vigía and enjoy a 360-degree view over city, coast, and valley,

When you come back down, go on a dancing route! From Casa de la Musica to Casa de la Trova, or to El Palenque de los Congos Reales. To experience the most popular night club, go to the Ayala Disco inside a real cave.

You get to spend another day in this beautiful area. The lush surroundings make you wish you would never have to leave. When you enter the national park you will be descending 3 km to the river to see the waterfall EL Salto de Caburní, which falls from a 62-meter high rock into a natural swimming pool.

It’s a beautiful area to hike and discover different species. If you’re lucky, you can witness the Tocororo, Cuba’s national bird.

Topes De Collantes - Remedios

Authentic Remedios

It is hard not to fall in love with Remedios: colorful houses, cobblestone streets, and attractive plazas, which are small, but authentic.

Despite its central location near Santa Clara, it has miraculously remained outside the tourist spotlights. Kids playing traditional games, a man tinkering with his old-timer, a woman with curlers in her hair, chatting with her neighbor in the doorway. Remedios has managed to retain its original charm!

Your casa is in the center around the central square. After dropping off your luggage in your room, relax and drink a Mojito, read a book or explore the surroundings.

The excursion includes the transfer, the guide service in English and the entrance fee to the Natural Reserve. The driver will pick you up at the casa and take you to your guide who will be waiting for you at the Natural Reserve's office.

A night in Havana

It’s your last full day, so make the most out of it! Havana offers many cultural options during the night. Performances of Cuban artists take place at theatres, cabarets, cafés like El Batazo, and cultural venues.

We highly recommend visiting Fábrica de Arte Cubano or, if you love jazz music, you should not miss El Gato Tuerto or La Zorra y el Cuervo. Around the golden hour, take the opportunity to admire the sunset from the Malecon.

Walking down the Malecon gives you an amazing sense of Havana's rambunctious spirit. Every night at 9 pm there is a ceremony at La Cabaña Fort, called El Cañonazo. Don't miss the fun!
