Your visit in Rio starts at the summit of the Sugarloaf, for a spectacular view of the city marking entrance of Guanabara Bay. You will then gather your first impression of the hottest capital in the world via a panoramic visit around Copacabana & Ipanema beaches.
The evening is yours! Spend the night in your superior room at the Porto Bay Rio internacional hotel.
Nature in the City: Tijuca
This morning starts your guided tour around the city. You will begin with a visit to the impressive botanical garden. The enormous park hosts various species of the Brazilian flora in an atmosphere filled with tropical scents. You will enjoy plenty of free time to wander between the water pools and to take in the freshness and peacefulness of the place.
Your next stop is the Tijuca national park in the center of Rio. This oasis of vegetation is the biggest urban forest in the world. You will reach the "vista chinesa" and the "mesa do Imperador": amazing points to discover Rio from a bird’s eye. We highly recommend that you climb up the Corcovado, a world-famous symbol of Rio to take the time to appreciate the unique and wonderful panoramic view of the cidade maravilhosa, the wonderful city.
Sailing around Guanabara Bay
Your third day will take you to Guanabara Bay where you can take a ride on a Brazilian sailing boat. A tour in the calm waters will give you a new perspective of the many sights of the city: the Sugarloaf, the fort at the entrance of the Bay, Niteroi and the Museum of Contemporary Art, the forts of Niteroi, the Presidente Costa e Silva bridge, the Ilha do Governador, the military port Ilha Fiscal, the Ilha Villegagnon, the city center.
People say that you only really know a place once you’ve driven around. So, in the afternoon you will be thrilled by the view while driving to Conceição de Jacarei along the Green Coast, a vegetation corridor between ocean and mountains. Yet another sailing experience will take you to cross Ilha Grande.
Heavenly island: Ilha Grande
Craving for some time to experience Brazil on your own? Here is the perfect moment. Your free day is at Ilha Grande which is a great destination to relax on dreamy secluded beaches. You have a lot of options to spend the day. If you don’t feel like laying on the beach all day to get suntanned, you could go for a hike through tropical rainforests. Taking one more boat tour will let you explore every single corner of the place and leave you breathless. You will appreciate life on the Island without the hustle and bustle of the busy city life. Imagine it: only you, the sea, the sun and not a single sound? Heaven.
Take Two: Ilha Grande
You didn't have enough of Ilha Grande, did you? You felt the disappointment last night knowing that you'll have to leave, but would have liked to stay on.
It's a common thing that everyone wants to come back on this dreamy island, so you have one more day at your disposal to spend as you desire. After all, you are on holiday and need some time to relax, not hurry around following an ambitious tour guide all the time. Enjoy!
Traveling to Foz Do Iguacu
Having had two relaxing days should make you feel full of energy! Good, as your trip is about to go on. Today is all about getting there. Where? Foz do Iguaçu, of course. And as mentioned, being in a hurry is never part of a good trip, which is why you need to take your time to transfer and check in at the Loi Suites Iguazu hotel. For the most impatient of you, you will have some evening time at your hands to have a look around the new destination before setting off to the wonderful experience tomorrow!
Iguacu Falls: Argentina
If you have been looking forward to visting the Iguacu Falls, wait no more. Today you will transfer to the Argentinean side of the park where you will get closer to the water, and of the impressive "Devil’s Canyon" under your feet. You will stop at the symbolic panoramic point to observe how the three borders touch each other: Paraguay - Brazil - Argentina.
Optional activities during the day can be cruising on a bout in the middle of the falls, which is a guaranteed fun but wet experience, and an excursion in the surrounding forest, to breath in its freshness.
Water Wonders from Floriano Fall
Today you will stay at the Brazilian side of the Iguaçu Park and admire its wonderful panoramic view. The Iguaçu national park, 185,000 acres, was created in 1939 and its ecological reserve was classified as a Natural Heritage site by the UNESCO. You will have to pass hundreds of small falls before reaching the last, most spectacular one: Floriano Fall. From there you will have an overwhelming view of the "Devil’s Canyon" in front of you. If you didn’t have enough of the spectacular scenery, you can have an option for a helicopter flight over and around the falls, to capture a thorough view in your memory.
Next stop on your trip is Cuiaba, so you’ll need the rest of the day to catch your flight. Enough time for transportation and checking in is set aside for you not to be in a haste.
En Routе to Pantanal: Photo Safari
Your journey goes on this morning with another spectacular drive around the country. On the way, there are plenty of possible places to stop, observe and take picture of the wild fauna around you. You will notice that on many spots covered with water, it will be possible to see amazingly large flocks of wading birds and caimans. There will also be many jabiru nests along the side of the Transpantaneira. After this epic photographic safari around Northern Pantanal, you will reach the first stop of your stay.
Relaxing Time at Fazenda Santa Tereza
On your tenth day you should have a walk into the forest to admire the local nature and maybe, if you’re lucky and silent, you will spot some animals in their natural habitat, such as apes, rodents, carnivores, marsupials, and also observe many different bird species.
After lunch, you’ll transfer to Fazenda Santa Tereza, which is located near a river. On the way you will be able to stop to take pictures and enjoy your surroundings. Being around in the nature will make you forget how time flies and be utterly absorbed by the tranquility of the place. You'll never want to leave, right?
Wilderness in Northern Pantanal
Early birds, be prepared! Before dawn, you will paddle down the river for the best approach. You will be lucky to observe a wonderful sunrise early in the morning. After a hearty breakfast, take a another walk in the forest, as each and every spot is different and has its own charm. The forest is full of tropical animals, so if you didn’t manage to get a glimpse on one yesterday, here’s your second chance.
If you have enjoyed your early-morning experience, it’s time to head back to the river in the afternoon again to admire and take pictures of many animal species living and finding shelter along the river bank. Then off to meet with the giant otters. You will also be right on time to be impressed by the wonderful colors of the sunset.
Animal Farm: Pouso Alegre
In the morning, you will keep going through the Pantanal and go to another fazenda called Pouso Alegre. On the way through the Transpantaneira you will notice many migratory birds, marsh deer, capybaras and caimans. Fazenda Pouso Alegre is a well-preserved farm, which the visitors can discover by foot or on a horseback around the properties. The main attraction around the farm is that each morning, around the sleeping areas, hyacinth macaws use to come by and offer a beautiful spectacle for visitors. You can also enjoy a wonderful night out being accompanied by your local guide.
Hasta Luego, Brazil!
A bit before dawn, you can go for a walk around the farm to watch the animals rise along with the sun, which you will discover, is an impressive experience. Depending on your return flight schedule, you can go horse riding after breakfast to better explore your surroundings and admire the landscapes of the farm. Make sure you take your time to prepare your luggage, check out and leave for the Cuiaba airport in order to be on time for your flight. Hopefully you have had amazing time around Brazil, you have explored its wildlife in details and have been impressed by the great variety of flora and fauna around. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
