Welcome to Brazil!
Welcome to Brazil! As your flight descends into the hills of Rio de Janeiro and you see the ocean sparkling in the sun, you realize you've arrived in paradise. Take in the city of Rio on the way to your hotel and use your first evening to relax and recover from the flight. Your hotel is located right on the legendary Copacabana and you have the most famous beaches in the world just outside your door.
Explore Rio de Janeiro, the Cidade Maravilhosa
It's time to go for a tour of Rio de Janeiro. Lead by your English-speaking guide, you will go up to the world-famous Corcovado. Take in the panoramic view of Rio, see the city stretch across countless bays, separated by soft hills and rocky boulders, while the ocean washes onto white beaches. On your way back down, you walk through the fascinating neighborhood of Santa Teresa. Once one of the wealthiest residential neighborhoods of Rio, it now shelters a diverse population in the bohemian quarter. Explore the rustic charm of old colonial buildings and windy cobblestone streets as you descend towards Lapa, where the Cariocas, how the people of Rio call themselves, go out to drink and dance. Visit the famous colored stairs, or "Escadaria do Convento da Santa Teresa" and take a photo. But the day is not over yet, not before you take the cable car up the world-renowned Sugarloaf Mountain.
The Best Way to Discover Rio is by Bike
Today you explore the south area of Rio in the best way possible, by bike! Follow a biking track along the banks of the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas bay, just behind the Ipanema neighborhood. If you want, you can take a break and visit the Catacumba park, where you can enjoy the modern sculptures on display here. Continue the tour along the beaches of Leblon and Ipanema, where you can swim in the ocean. At the end of the beach, enjoy the view from Arpoador, a local land mark, marking the end of the beach. Hop back on the bike and take the short ride to Copacabana, the most famous beach in Rio, where local sunbathers mix with merchants and tourists, forming a unique mix that can only be found here. You return to your hotel early in the afternoon and have the rest of the day all to yourself. Enjoy!
Take a Trip to Paraty, Rio’s Greenbelt
Today it's time to leave Rio and head out into the countryside! You board a private car with air conditioning and take the drive along the Green Coast, a vegetation corridor between the ocean and the mountains to Paraty. Here you check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day. Take a walk on the beach, or maybe explore the town? The evening is yours!
A Hike into the Countryside
Take a short drive to the village of Laranjeira, which translates to "Orange tree". Here, you take an easy hike into the Atlantic forest at the heart of the "Ecological preservation area of Joatinga". After an hour and a half of pleasant walk you reach the village of Sono for lunchtime, on the border of one of the nicest beaches of the region, Praia Do Sono. After a strengthening lunch, you continue your hike and pass by the beautiful beaches of Praia Da Velha and Praia Dos Antigos before arriving in the fishing village of Ponta Negra. Stop for the night in this hamlet at the end of the world, in the recesses of a cove with the waves washing onto the white sand beach as the only noise disturbing your sleep.
Explore Traditional Brazilian Lifestyle
Life in the mountains around Paraty has changed little over the last 50 years. Spend the day exploring the local lifestyle in Ponta Negra. The village is largely independent from outside resources due to its favorable location. In the morning you can go fishing with the men of the village who will introduce you to their traditional fixed-net fishing techniques. Back in the village, visit a cassava plantation and the "flour house" where the cassava is processed and reduced to flour. After lunch, a local guide takes you to a waterfall of crystal clear water. After this full day of cultural exploring, dinner will be served in one of the local restaurants, all made locally with local ingredients.
Visit a Native Family
Start the day with a relaxing motorboat ride back to Laranjeiras. Here, you take a hike to the Saco do Mamangua, a magical jungle area directly on the ocean. After a pleasant walk, reach the bottom of Saco do Mamangua. Discover a narrow and deep bay that will remind you of a Scandinavian fjord. Hike down a few hundred meters to arrive in Regato, a little village hidden near a grove of mangroves. Be welcomed by Sir Jurray and his family, who live the traditional lifestyle of the Caiçaras. Learn how the family makes a living from fishing and for the last few years, oyster farming and the crafting of painted wooded boats. Spend the night in a traditional hut. There is no electricity here, but hot showers are provided. The simplicity of the place will enchant you and let you spend the night surrounded peace and quiet.
Tour the Turquoise Ocean
Wake up for a day full of discovering the ocean. In the morning, board a comfortable fishing boat that will take you back to Paraty. But not without stopping for some excellent snorkeling on the way! Your boat will take you from island to island, beach to beach, with stops planned at different sights that are superb places to get wet. Snorkel or swim among hundreds of colorful fish as you discover everything the underwater world of Brazil has to offer. You will even be provided with a snorkel and mask. In the early evening, return to your hotel in Paraty and relax after a day at sea.
Head to Breathtaking Iguaçu!
It is time to leave the beach for now, but don’t be disappointed! You’re headed to one of the most stunning natural wonders in the world: the Iguaçu Falls. Depart Paraty in the morning for the airport in Rio, where you will catch a flight to where Brazil borders on Paraguay and Argentina. You will be greeted upon arrival by a member of our team and taken to your hotel after a long day of travel.
Panoramic Waterfall Views
Today, you are off to explore this natural wonder! Depart your hotel via private vehicle and head to the Brazilian side of the Iguaçu Park to admire the gorgeous panoramic view. Over 185,000 acres, the park was created in 1939 and its ecological reserve was classified as a Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO. Pass by hundreds of small waterfalls before reaching the finale, Floriano Fall. From here, enjoy a stunning panoramic view over the “Devil’s Canyon”. If you wish, you can arrange a short helicopter ride, and experience this natural wonder from above. On your return to your hotel, stop by the bird park, or “Parque das Aves”, and observe hundreds of types of birds from Brazil and other tropical countries.
View the Falls from Argentina
Your English-speaking guide will meet you at your hotel after breakfast and travel with you to the Argentinian side of the park. On the way, make a stop at the symbolic and panoramic triple border point that connects Brazil to both Argentina and Paraguay. Arrive at the Argentinian side of the falls, where you can get closer to the water and get a closer look at the “Devil’s Canyon”. Afterwards, stop for the Gran Aventura Zodiac. Ride in a 4WD vehicle that will take you over the rough terrain through the silent forest, until the road becomes narrow and you can continue on foot. Upon reaching the riverbank, board a powerful Zodiac boat, which will take you under the waterfalls themselves! Afterwards, return to your hotel in Brazil to spend the evening at your leisure.
Let’s go to Praia do Forte!
After a refreshing night of rest at your hotel, you will be escorted to the airport to board your next flight. Upon arrival in Praia do Forte, you will picked up from the airport and transferred to your hotel, where you can relax and prepare for some tough upcoming days - of relaxation!
A Day at the Beach
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel before heading towards the water. The day is yours to use as you wish! Get out to the beach and catch some sunshine! Maybe you would like to practice your tanning while you sip on a refreshing beer or cocktail as you lay in the sand? And for the younger ones of the party, how about trying a delicious, freshly cut coconut? If you prefer to do some sightseeing in the water, grab some snorkel gear and dive into the beautiful tropical waters. What are you waiting for?
You Can Never get Enough Beach!
Today is another day you can use as you please. After a delightful morning meal at your hotel, head back to the beach for some more fun in the sand! Gaze upon the sparkling blue waters and go for a swim. If you get hungry, head towards the numerous excellent restaurants that line the streets. How about trying some açai ice cream for desert, a delacacy of Brazil? Get it to go and take a long walk along the beach as you enjoy it under the sun.
