Welcome to Recife!
Watch the magnificent country of Brazil float below you as you land at the airport in Recife. Your English-speaking driver will pick you up from the airport and bring you to your hotel in Olinda. After you’ve checked into your hotel, the rest of the days is yours! Choose to hang out in your room and recuperate from the long flight, or hit the town and get your first taste of Brazil!
Explore colonial Olinda
Wake up to your first wonderful Brazilian breakfast at your hotel. Today, you will visit one of the most beautiful and well-preserved colonial cities in Brazil. In the morning, you will be picked up by your guide and together you will head out to explore Olinda. First, head towards Praça do Carmo square and Nossa Senhora do Carmo Church, a charming building constructed around 1580. Take a stroll through the colorful city streets to visit the São Francisco convent. Continue on to Alto da Sé, the highest point in the city - a great place to come back and enjoy the marvelous sunset. End your day with a stop by the Contemporary Art Museum, which is located in a former jailhouse, before driving back to your hotel.
Visit Brazil’s Venice
After breakfast, your English-speaking guide will pick you up for your full-day tour of Recife. Capital of the Pernambuco state and nicknamed the “Brazilian Venice” due to its many canals, its lovely streets call to artists from around Brazil. Start your tour at Marco Zéro Square, located at the heart of the historical city center. Afterwards, visit South America’s oldest synagogue, Kahal Zur Israël, an important sight for the Israeli community. Take in your lunch near Pátio de São Pedro square before visiting the Capela Dourada, a Brazilian Baroque chapel, whose walls were covered in gold in the early 1700s. If you wish, you can also choose to visit the famous Francisco Brennand workshop and Ricardo Brennand’s wax museum.
Head North to Pipa
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, your driver will pick you up and you head north, towards Praia da Pipa. Pipa is a quirky little beach town that, despite its considerable fame among both Brazilian and international tourists, has preserved its own charm. Small cobblestone roads lead from the lush hills down to the beaches, where both surfers and dolphins play in the waves. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation. If you like, take a stroll through the picturesque village and enjoy the atmosphere. Or how about dinner in one of Pipa's excellent seafood restaurants?
Enjoy the beauty of Praia da Pipa
Take today to enjoy the beaches that make Pipa a favorite vacation spot in Brazil's northeast. Relax in a beach chair at Praia do Amor, the "Beach of Love" and sip a cold beer or a coconut juice fresh out of the fruit. Take a stroll along Praia do Madeiro and watch the waves crash onto the sand. If you are looking for a more action-packed day, take a buggy excursion along the coast or test your kitesurfing skills and rent some gear in one of the many surf shops in town. For sunset, walk down to Baia dos Golfinhos, and watch the dolphins, the bay's namesakes, that come by here often.
Ride in a dune buggy
Start the day with a strengthening breakfast. Then, your buggy driver awaits you for an amazing dune buggy trip along the coast. You will visit several small villages along the way and drive through the incredible dune landscape. The trip ends in São Miguel do Gostoso, another beach- and kite surf paradise. Spend the night in a beautiful hotel right at the beach.
See the salt dunes of Rio Grande do Norte
In the morning, depart São Miguel do Gostoso and head to the Rosado dunes. Rising high above the surrounding area, the dunes provide a great view from the top. Then cross the Alagamar desert, a fascinating landscape with no roads, and finally reach the salt dunes. The region of Rio Grande do Norte is one of the largest salt exporters in the world, and here is where the salt is harvested. See the impressive ponds and learn about how the salt is extracted. Then continue on to Galinhos, a small village situated on a peaceful peninsula and your final destination for today. Check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening.
Enjoy a free day in Galinhos
Today there is no planned itinerary, enjoy the free time and explore the charming village of Galinhos. Relax on the heavenly beaches around town, or take a walk through the beautiful small streets. Take an early afternoon drink of Caipirinha at one of the local bars. Of course you've heard of Caipirinha with lemons, but how about trying it with Caja, the fruit of the Cashew tree?
Cross a river on a wooden barge
After breakfast at your hotel, hop back into the dune buggy and let your driver take you towards Icapui. Marvel at the red hills and exotic beaches, such as Mel de Baixo and Morro Pintado. Before reaching your final destination of today, there is one more obstacle to overcome: crossing a river on a traditional barge. Your buggy and all passengers will board a small wooden barge and the captain will pole the barge safely to the other side. An adventure you won't easily forget.
Stunning Brazilian coastline
Spend the day traveling in your buggy and enjoying the spectacular landscapes of Brazil. Enjoy the views of beautiful beaches, and gaze upon the colorful cliffs that can be seen as you pass through Canoa Quebrada. In the afternoon, arrive in Fortim. The village itself is charming, and the beaches are made for relaxing! If you wish, spend the rest of the day exploring the village or head directly to the beach!
Relax on tranquil beaches
Spend the day enjoying yourself in Fortim! Take in your delicious breakfast, and then it’s off to the beach. Relax on the sand and soak in the sun while you enjoy your favorite cocktail. If things get too hot, take a dip into the tropical water. This is the perfect place to relax and bathe in tranquility.
Fly out from Foraleza
Your tour through northern Brazil will be one you will never forget. At the appropriate time, you will be transferred to the Fortaleza airport. Catch your flight back home or to your next destination. Or, return to your hotel if you opt to continue your journey through Brazil. Come visit Brazil again soon!
