Welcome to Victoria Falls!
Resting on the southern banks of the Zambezi River at the western end of the eponymous falls, this popular tourist town is compact enough to walk around and makes an ideal base for travelers exploring the unfathomably vast Victoria Falls. About two-thirds of the falls can be viewed from the Zimbabwean side and, while the falls are undoubtedly the star attraction, the area provides both adventure seekers and sightseers with plenty of opportunities to warrant a longer stay. Popular activities include scenic flights over the falls in helicopters or microlights, bungee jumping off the Victoria Falls Bridge, white-water rafting (seasonal), and day trips to Chobe National Park.
Go on a morning or afternoon game drive today, depending on your arrival time.
Enjoy a Guided Tour to Victoria Falls
Take a guided tour of the Victoria Falls, situated a mere 7km from the Old Drift Lodge.
Africa has an air of romance that sets her apart from anywhere else in the world.
However, it is upon stepping into the Victoria Falls rainforest that guests are truly swept off their feet.
There is no finer ambience than the gentle roar of the waterfall. The trees grow so closely together that their branches entwine, and their soft, wet drip across the stone path that weaves through this natural wonder.
Submerge yourself in the fragrance of the flora and the playful fauna in this enchanting and awe-inspiring space.
Satisfy your wanderlust by visiting the most beautiful of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World!
Go on a Game Drive and a River Safari
Go on a morning game drive in 4 x 4 game viewing vehicles that will take you along the Zambezi River through the Zambezi National Park.
Game that can be seen include elephants, buffalo, kudu, giraffe, zebra, eland, impala, warthogs, lion, wild dog and on occasions, cheetah. Tea baskets and snacks will be available to you.
In the afternoon, Old Drift has two luxury 10-seater pontoon boats used for river safaris. Go on a river safari and enjoy cruising along the Zambezi River and the amazing fauna you'll spot!
Embark on the Chobe Princess Houseboat and Enjoy the Chobe Riverfront
Embark on the Chobe Princess houseboat and cruise the Chobe River, which forms the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park, renowned for its diverse and abundant game viewing opportunities.
This section of the park is best known for its dense concentration of wildlife, including elephant and hippo populations, but the waters attract all manner of game, including large herds of buffalo and the lions that prey on them.
A visit to this area guarantees close encounters with a wide array of African wildlife.
Enjoy Wildlife Viewing on the Chobe River
Staying on board a Chobe Princess is like being on a permanent game viewing vehicle, but with a much higher comfort factor.
Situated in the heart of the Chobe region with access to river frontage of the Chobe National Park, we also offer water-based game drives by tender boat, allowing you to experience the enormous diversity and concentration of wildlife even closer.
Catch sight of huge herds of elephants as they swim across the water, as well as buffalo, lion, crocodile, lechwe, puku, giraffe, zebra, sable, kudu and the occasional leopard as they gather to quench their thirst at watering holes. Besides animal life, you’ll also see a huge variety of birdlife and plant life as you listen to the sounds of a hippo grunting and breathe in the sweet smell of African grass.
You may also go fishing, birding, or on a photo safari!
