Encounter the Country's World War II History
Today you will get to know some of the highlights of Bosnia and Herzogovina as we make our way around a circuit of historically important cities and towns.
Our first two stops are steeped in World War II history. The delightful town of Konjic features one of the country's most iconic sights -- a 17th century stone bridge, which spans the Neretva River. Destroyed during the war, the bridge was reconstructed in 2009. In Jablanica, you will learn about the Battle of Neretva, in which the Yugoslav Partisans surprisingly triumphed over enemy forces.
The journey continues to Blagaj. Here you can visit the fascinating Dervish Monastery with its elements of Ottoman design, before continuing on to Mostar, home to a landmark bridge that dates from 1566.
Return to Sarajevo for an overnight stay.
Discover the Ancient Cities of Travnik and Jajce
Two fascinating destinations await today: Travnik and Jajce.
After breakfast at your hotel, we will set off for Travnik. This Ottoman-era city features an array of historical structures, including a 15th century medieval fortress, an ancient mosque, and a historic school, which is still in use today. Walk around the impressive 18th century clock towers and marvel at the city's sundial, which dates from 1886.
Our next stop is Jajce. Built on the banks of the Pliva and Vrbas Rivers, this emblematic stone city is home to a historic castle and an intriguing open-air museum where you will encounter the local history first hand.
Return to Sarajevo for overnight.
Walk Through the Shadows of the Bosnian War
Sarajevo is no stranger to war, and today you will get an insider's perspective on the nearly four harrowing years of the Siege of Sarajevo.

You will also learn about the Sarajevo Roses -- scars in the concrete caused by bombs and shrapnel that have been painted red in memorandum.
Stay overnight in Sarajevo.
Over the last few days you have gained an indelible impression of a country marked by the joys and traumas of time. Your knowledge of these lands has deepened, and we hope you carry your memories with you forever in your heart.
