You have just landed in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina! After you’ve gotten your bags and cleared customs, you will be greeted by a member of our team and taken to your hotel. You will then meet your personal destination host, who will inform you of your itinerary and take care of any questions you might have. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy! Start exploring the city on your own. Described as the “Paris of South America”, Buenos Aires is filled with European architecture, picturesque cobblestone streets, and quaint cafes. What’s that you smell? It might be some of Argentina’s famous beef cooking on an open “parrilla”, or barbecue. Grab yourself a bite of authentic Argentina!
Discover colorful Buenos Aires
After you’ve taken in breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up for your city tour. Today, see all of the fascinating sights that the great city of Buenos Aires has to offer! Wind your way down the cobblestone streets of San Telmo, the historical and political center of the city. Visit the area of La Boca, the colorful district where tango music wafts from the windows. Continue your tour in the district of Recoleta. Home to beautiful palaces, this area is now very chic and aristocratic. In the afternoon, return to your hotel to freshen up before heading out for a night on the town! It is off to a dinner and tango show. Enjoy an excellent display of authentic Argentinean dance as you dine on delicious local cuisine.
Wake up to another fantastic breakfast. At the appropriate time, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the airport for your flight to El Calafate in southern Patagonia. Upon arrival, you will be taken to your hotel to spend the rest of the day relaxing. If you wish, you can also explore the town and discover its secrets for yourself. You can also go on a short hike to Laguna Nimez, where you can enjoy the colorful Patagonian sunset.
See awe-inspiring Perito Moreno Glacier
Wake up to an early breakfast before heading out for your full-day excursion. Today, travel to Perito Moreno Glacier, located in Los Glaciers National Park. Declared an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981, Perito Moreno is one of the only glaciers in the world that is still advancing rather than receding. It is an amazing sight to behold, and the experience will leave you inspired. Travel with a bilingual guide, who can tell you everything you wish to know about this fantastic natural phenomenon. After viewing the glacier from walking trails, jump into a boat to get more up close and personal! The boat cruise will take you much closer to the glacier. You will never forget an wall of ice 80m high!
Hike in El Chalten
After you’ve enjoyed your breakfast, you will board a comfortable public bus that will take you all the way to El Chalten, one of Argentina’s top-ranked trekking destinations. Along the way, enjoy the views of the southern Patagonian desert along the famous Route 40. Pass by the scenic La Leona river and the La Leona Road House, where Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid hid away for a month after robbing a bank. Once you reach your destination, check into your hotel and explore your surroundings. The village is small, but charming, and it is here that most visitors start their journeys through the park. If you wish, you can take a short walk to a small waterfall. If you prefer to relax, you can try the fantastic local brewery instead.
Spend the day with nature
There are so many great activities in El Chalten for any level of experience. Spend your day enjoying the park. Located at the foot of Fitz Roy mountain, the park features a thick, lush forest dotted with glaciers, lakes, and rivers. It is considered one of Argentina’s natural gems. You will be provided with complete trekking information and advice, so you can choose how you would like to spend your day. Take a hike ranging from 3 kilometers to a full-day, 8-hour trek. The view is worth the walk! The trails feature great views of the mountains and impressive vistas of Fitz Roy. Afterwards, enjoy a cold, well-deserved beer at the brewery.
Hike in El Chalten
Wake up ready for another energizing breakfast. Afterward, you have free time in the morning to continue enjoying the park. Go on another of the park’s many spectacular hikes and soak in Patagonia’s awe-inspiring natural landscapes. In the afternoon, board your bus back to El Calafate. Rest as you enjoy the view out your window. After arrival at your hotel, spend the rest of the evening at your leisure.
Drive to Torres del Paine
Today is a special day. Not only will you cross from Argentina into Chile, you will also get to lay eyes on the majestic rock faces of Torres del Paine National Park, one of the most impressive natural wonders on the entire continent. You are picked up from your hotel early in the morning for the trip to the park. You cross the Patagonian plains, where you have the chance to see rheas, guanacos, Patagonian hares, and maybe even a condor.
Cross the border to Chile and continue your journey through the beautiful south of Chile, until you arrive at Torres del Paine. The name translates to "Blue Towers" in the native language of the Tehuelche. Take a guided tour through the park and see some of its highlights, including the Salto Grande, the Laguna Amarga, and of course, the park's namesake, the Torres del Paine rock face. After a long but exciting day, spend the night at a comfy hotel in the park.
Explore Torres del Paine on foot
Torres del Paine is one of the most beautiful protected areas of South America, and the best way to explore it is on foot. After a strengthening breakfast, you have the opportunity to pick from light hikes around the area of your hotel to full day treks to the foot of the Torres. Whichever option you choose, Torres del Paine is always breathtakingly beautiful. See owl and deer, condors and guanacos, look for orchids or pick wild blueberries and always enjoy the amazing sight of the massive granite wall looming over the area. In the evening, return to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening after a day full of activity.
Discover Chile's southernmost City
Today it's time to leave Torres del Paine behind. Your driver will pick you up and transfer you to the city of Punta Arenas. It's Chile's southernmost city and was once a wealthy port. Before the Panama Canal was opened, every ship wanting to cross between the Western and Eastern hemisphere had to stop here. Today Punta Arenas preserves this rich history in its architecture and several interesting museums. Also, make sure to visit the cemetery with its impressive mausoleums. After a day of exploring this fascinating city, enjoy the evening in your hotel.
Visit the city at the End of the World
After breakfast, take the bus to Ushuaia, the southernmost city on the American continent and known as the "City at the End of the World". The bus ride will take you through some of Patagonia's most stunning scenery. You will cross the mystical Strait of Magellan by ferry and then continue your journey by bus. Upon arrival in Ushuaia, check in to your hotel and enjoy the evening. How about dinner at one of Ushuaia's fine restaurants, or an evening stroll around town? The choice is yours.
Go hiking and canoeing in Tierra del Fuego
In the morning, you will be picked up and driven to Tierra del Fuego National Park. Here, take a hike along the coast of the Beagle Channel and explore the native fauna and flora. You also have the chance to see the remnants of the ancient inhabitants of this region, the Yamanas. At the end of your hike, you reach Roca Lake, where a homemade picnic has been prepared for you.
After lunch, you switch from hiking to canoeing. Navigate along the Lapataia river, which will take you to Lapataia Bay. Here is the official end of the Panamerican Highway, which stretches all the way from Alaska down to here. After this adventure, you are transferred back to your hotel in Ushuaia.
Explore the Beagle Channel by boat
Today you take to the water and explore the famous Beagle Channel by boat. Enjoy the panoramic view of the Ushuaia bay and see the diverse marine wildlife, such as fur seals, cormorants, and many other species of coastal birds. Take an excursion to Bridges Island, where you can scavenge for concheros, giant shells. They make a great gift for friends and family at home. During the boat ride, sit on deck and enjoy the ride the Argentinian way, by drinking a cup of mate, the local tea.
