Local Visit Africa in June Experts
The trip.me way of travel
She was very attentive to our needs and request. I was very happy with her service.
The service provided was very good. The accommodations look quite enjoyable and educational fitting the period of time that they represented.
I would suggest however that if you make a reservation months in advance that you check it out to make sure that it’s still in effect; we had a problem because the company that had the Riad ( B&B) sold to another and our reservation was lost but the travel agency straightened it out and we weren’t left in the cold.
The trip to Egypt was very enjoyable and lots of wonderful memories created. Amira was helpful all the way through the process and made changes when they were requested. We found the private tour really suited us and allowed us flexibility and we were able to ask lots of one on one questions with all the various guides. The only slight confusion was that Amira actually works for a local agency and it was their tour guides and drivers that did all the day to day work.Read More Read More Less
We traveled to Kenya with two ten-year-old grandchildren in June 2019. Heike planned the most amazing two week trip with the perfect combination of safaris, tented camps, lodges and a super variety of other activities. We biked in Hell’s gate past peacefully grazing animals and hiked in a beautiful gorge, did a boat safari, did a small hike near Mount Kenya with a trekking guide, took fun photos at the equator, all with a great guide, James, who was wonderful with the children. Perhaps one of the best experiences we had which was Heike’s suggestion, was our days at Maji Moto Eco Camp in the Lolita hills run by the Masai. It was an incredible adventure where we experienced the Masai culture in the beauty of their lands. The camp was excellent and very comfortable. A big thank you to Heike for encouraging us to give it a try. Our grandchildren loved it there and our visit to the local Masai school was a wonderful opportunity for them to meet other children and see what they were learning.
Another fun and educational experience was the junior ranger program in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, including a visit to see the special rhino and to the chimpanzee sanctuary.
Heike and I communicated for a year and no detail was overlooked. She gave great advice especially regarding driving distances and not trying to cover too much of the country. However, we saw and did so much, covering the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust where the kids adopted an elephant each and the Giraffe Centre in Karen, Nairobi, the Samburu reserve, a Samburu village, the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Lake Naivasha, Maji Moto and the Masai Mara. We took a bush plane back to Nairobi from The Masai Mara, a fun extra adventure! (our truck is muddy in the picture because of the early morning rain and muddy track getting to the airstrip)
We met Heike at the beginning and end of the trip and felt like she was a friend. I can not imagine how this trip could have been any better. Our grandchildren have had an experience that they will never forget. You can book with Heike with every confidence that she will plan an excellent custom trip for you. If you are traveling with children, she has great ideas!
We had a first-class trip around Namibia incorporating Etosha Park, 3/big 5; Damaraland (rock art) and Windhoek (sand and birdlife)
Carmen was excellent at tailoring our itinerary to the needs of three generations. Accommodation and car hire worked like clockwork. Our only disappointment was the limited time we spent in Etosha despite Carmen's best efforts - be warned book early
